The Official Euro 2016 Megathread

Wenger has you know won rather a lot of titles in his time as well. You sound like Adrian Durham with that stance!
The main bulk of his titles were a long time ago now. He is looking rather outdated IMO.

Look at his recent record in the Champions League which is a good analogy for international tournaments. I can't count the FA Cup because teams rarely play their best XI until the final two rounds.

Wenger of 10 years ago yes but not so convinced now, last won a title in 2004. Has hardly got past the 2nd round of the CL in 9 years and in reality has barely competed for the title in 10 years. Two FA Cups in 11 years isn't good enough for a club of Arsenals size.
England have been accused of having a soft under belly at times exact same problem that Arsenal have had for years, his sides are defensively suspect also.
He'd have us playing decent football but whether he could push us on past a QF I'm not so sure.

Did i just read some suited up numpty at the FA sounding out the dream team of HODDLE and Southgate??????

The clear out should start with the suits!!!!!!!!!!

I'd take Klinsmann over everyone else suggested so far.

Klinsmann is shite. Would be a dreadful appointment.

Hasn't been pulling up trees for USA. They have failed to qualify for the Confederations Cup & the Olympics (twice) while he's been in charge.

That's a bit like saying "Strachan isn't pulling up trees because Scotland failed to qualify" (sorry, just a little dig at Alan and the US football team there)

The US FIFA ranking is a lot higher than Scotland's.

Klinnsman would be a fucking terrible appointment.

I would ask sir Alex to do it for 4 years and give him free reign. He builds a side with a style has a reputation and is not afraid to drop big names if they don't fit the style. We missed out on Clough as national boss as the fa were afraid of his outspoken style. If he had been appointed mid 80s we would not be where we are now. Fergus could do the same! It won't happen but he would top my list by a mile.

Can't see Ferguson being interested in the slightest - nothing to gain & all to lose reputation wise.

He doesn't need it & a Scot (why would he want a succesful England team :icon_biggrin:)

Fergie's 75 at the end of this year. It just isn't viable at all.

Third time I have said this: Sir Alex Ferguson has categorically stated he would never even consider managing England. Ever. It won't happen!!!!

He is too old. He has absolutely specifically and categorically stated that he would NEVER ever take the job.

Apart from that, good chance it might happen.

Southgate apparently doesn't want the job.

Wenger vs Klinsmann - why is that even a debate :icon_lol:

Wenger would be my choice but I'm not sure if he could be bothered with the stick that inevitably comes with this job. In fact, I don't know why anyone with a brain would.
