The Official Euro 2016 Megathread

Bilic for me. We should make a big play for him even if West Ham have moved into the Olympic Stadium. I still think he'd be very interested.

Not a chance. West Ham won't let him go. And they will pay him huge money with the extra 20000 season tickets now.

West Ham, with a 'free' stadium will be one of the most cash rich clubs in the league, plus being in Europe, I can't see Bilic leaving.

Hasn't been pulling up trees for USA. They have failed to qualify for the Confederations Cup & the Olympics (twice) while he's been in charge.

Mexico is in the midst of a bit of a golden generation (7-0 drubbing to Chile notwithstanding), Costa Rica and Panama are also punching above their usual weight, and Jurgen doesn't coach the U23s, so that's not entirely on him.

That said, his tinkering with lineups and insistence on playing players out of their best position is boggling at best, infuriating at worst. He'd go one of two ways given the talent in England; wild success or spectacular failure. Can't see there being any in-between with him.

He's also massively unpopular here.

Klinsmann showing an interest, apparently.

I wish. The DFB were on board with everything he set in motion, he had total control over the whole set up. I'm sure he can see the young talent coming through and might see it a relatively "easy" task to get the team performing better. It will be the FA itself that will be the problem.

Would much prefer Wenger though.

I like Wenger a lot, but I'm not sure he's the man to sort out England bottling under pressure

Maybe we'd just be better off accepting that England are not contenders, but outsiders and play as such? I've just read an interesting stat; Since 1950 there have been 64 teams in the finals of the WC and Euro (winners and 2nd place) - England has only managed that once (66) yet Czechoslovakia / CZ Republic, a team considered a rank outsider has managed the same 4 times.

Accept the role of underdog, appoint Wenger if we want entertaining attacking football with the occasional flirt with the semi's, appoint Allardyce if we want to be hard to beat but achieve the same end result.

So ITV start their build up to Portugal v Poland with....ANOTHER post-mortem on England.

Fucking hell...

God knows why. Ah - its because BBC have the Wales game.

Concentrate on the game coming up for God's sake

They haven't even mentioned who is bloody playing TONIGHT. Not the line-ups - the names of the fucking teams

Ridiculous.

Well finished Lewa. First proper chance he's had all tournament!

At least Portugal have got to play now, different game from their usual knockout stage "keep it 0-0 and hope Ronaldo does something late on" masterplan.

Holy clangers, Cedric.

Hang on, wasn't that England who scored? Sorry, the build up to this match must have confused me.

Not sure why Portugal were favourites and Poland 3/1. I'd have had Poland slight favourites
