The Official Euro 2016 Megathread

I can see lots being made of us not being able to win this game and we had chances to win but it's not easy to play against sides who just sit back and defend looking to get a point and that's what the 3 teams in this group have done against us. As it stands we could have an easier game in the next round and once you get to the quarter finals it doesn't really matter who you play.

We really lack someone with serious pace breaking from midfield. Might be unfashionable at the moment but someone like Theo Walcott could have made a big difference in that game.

Love the fact that just after Crouch says it's because of the changes because it disrupted momentum, Bilic says "it's not because of the changes", he is magnificent.

I agree. Finishing aside I don't think we did too much wrong tonight.

Great comment from Bilic, play against a better team and it will be better for England.

Bilic has been a joy. I love the fact he says we for england. Brilliant stuff

Knockout now so a different scenario. We will need to score first. Well done Wales anyway.

When the reality hits you that we've drawn games against Slovakia & Russia - finishing behind Wales in a group of 4... :/

Looking at the draw the important thing was not to come third in this group.

Both paths are tough, but the third place path would be very tough indeed.

Now calling Wright for the idiot he is as well. Dixon also speaking sense.

By my calculations we can have a routine exit against France in the Q/F now.

In Paris, no less - although I've felt England and France both look very similar so far, lots of quality in places but shaky at the back under real pressure and unable to turn chances into goals.

Thought it was a bad decision keeping Vardy on tonight; against a team that's sitting so deep, without space to run into behind, he's kind of redundant. Sturridge is much more the kind of player to create a chance in a crowded penalty area, and thought he was playing well until replaced.

Trying not to be massively smug about winning the group...
Were you smug on Thursday? Be smug if you go further than us, which you could well do. At the moment I'd back us both to go out at the quarters. You to Belgium, us to France

Fuck reality, we have dominated all 3 games and created very good chances in the 2 games we didn't win. All 3 teams have just set out to defend against us where as they have attacked against each other. Not easy to break teams down that just sit back and don't have any interest in scoring.
