The NFL Thread

Not exactly nice for their brand new head coach either. He's gonna need some serious patience from them owners and fans.

Jalen Nailor to the Raiders. Expected from the Vikings point of view but still sad to see him leave as he had a really good year

With the Niners injury history and his recent record this'll likely end in him playing three games tops.
One of those that could never be a bigger win for the new team than it will be a loss for the old. Even with his injury record, he's a legit #1 and he had great chemistry with Baker. That is a lot to let walk out the door, IMO.

Buccaneers' better get somebody good, but Jaxon Smith-Njigbas don't grow on trees.

In other news:

  • Tua is signing with Atlanta (fucking ouch, Tua, why fucking Atlanta???) for a year
  • Jaelan Phillips is signing with Carolina, as is Kenny Pickett, for some reason (Kenny Pickett is about as close to an NC stereotype of a name as it gets, I suppose)
  • Rashid Shaheed is getting $51m (!!) to stay in Seattle
  • Cincinnati have their Hendrickson replacement in the form of Boye Mafe, which might be an upgrade
  • Wan'Dale Robinson has followed Brian Daboll from the Giants to Tennessee
  • Las Vegas have added Quay Walker, Nakobe Dean, and Kwity Paye, which is about as big a swing as I think we'll see this offseason

I think once again this free agency is showing a couple of things. The fairness/unfairness of the salary cap, depending on your viewpoint and that however much the cap goes up, teams will.just throw it at overpriced players. Someone like the Raiders or Titans will be crowned as winning free agency and then go 5-12. I am glad Nakobe didn't go to Dallas

Max Crosby Raiders to Ravens trade is off after he failed his physical exam. No doubt the Ravens sign Trey Hendrickson tomorrow. Not at all shady.

Shame for Crosby. Maybe the Ravens are being over cautious, or maybe there is a real risk he is finished at an elite level.
Puts the Raiders in a difficult situation if they want to rebuild - it's hard to imagine anyone else offering two 1sts for him now.

Yeah there's nothing that I've read this morning that seems to have appeared in that medical that they didn't already know. It's dodgy

Sounds to me like it's just a case of buyer's remorse and knowing they could get Hendrickson without giving up draft picks.
