The NFL Thread

Well a game at the normal time is a 7.00 or 8.00am kickoff on Monday in Melbourne, so that won't work. It would also need to be west coast sides but even that is 20 hour flight minimum you would think.

Rams already confirmed as the home team. 15 ½ hrs apparently. Can't see it being a division game, so Chargers looks most likely I'd say.

You feel like the teams playing would need a bye week either side of that fixture. Is this what finally moves the NFL to make the schedule 18 weeks and give each team 2 bye weeks, as has been proposed quite a few times?

Bye Week! Bronko Nagurski didn't get no bye weeks. And now he's dead!

It will be the first week of the season so presumably it will be the season opener on the Friday night US time so it is early Saturday lunchtime at the MCG. The two teams could then not play until late Sunday in week 2, or 1 could be in the MNF slot.

That's the slot they use for the Brazil game, although I guess they could have 2

They will have to move Brazil then or the American public are missing it. Brazil is in virtually the same time zone, Melbourne categorically isnt.

Brazil is 10 hours from Philly so less about the time zone and more about the time in the air. That said I think it was the Rams who came into London last year (from Baltimore) the day before the game, won and flew out the same night. More expectation on the 'home' team to be present beforehand though

Matthew Stafford 2025 season MVP.
366 votes to 361 for Drake Maye
Defensive player Myles Garrett
Offensive player Jaxon Smith-Njigba
Coach Mike Vrabel

Can't really argue with any of those, Vrabel in particular totally worthy of the award.

Remember the discussion about the Falcons stupid overpayment to get back into the first last year? Because they overrated themselves that pick for the Rams became number 13 in this year's draft. It couldn't get worse could it? Well now the guy they selected has done this:

3 London games next year. Also Paris, Mexico City, Madrid, and Melbourne.

Wouldn't know how travelling to Melbourne works for the scheduling.
Badly, I would guess.

Just under an hour now…

I kind of hate that I have a hard time hating this Pats team. Vrabel is weirdly likable. When asked if he would cut his penis off in exchange for a Super Bowl win, he replied, “well… I’ve been married for 20 years. So, yeah. I would.” 🤣🤣🤣

I think there's plenty of folk feeling the same way @Alan

The Patriots are effectively the Man Utd of the NFL for me, so although the Seahawks are the Niners division rivals hopefully they'll win.

And they should as they're the more complete team.

If it were Dallas v New England I would be conflicted. A bit like Scotland fans in 1986 when it looked like Uruguay might get England in the second round of the World Cup after kicking Scotland off the park (red card after just over 60 seconds and the rest was just butchery). One did say, he would almost, ALMOST, support England against them.

I would almost support Dallas against the Cheatriots. As Dallas aren't here, it is remarkably easy to want the Seahawks to win.

I do think that there's something to be said that the biggest complaint about Spygate from other coaches in the league was that they didn't think of trying it first.

Pretty lame introduction to the field for the teams based on previous years.

How I know Drake Maye went to Myers' Park High School: his dad could afford to buy tickets to a Super Bowl
