Not in the way it happened, certainly!

The Panthers still lack some key pieces so it’s pretty impressive that they tend to be hard to beat, even when they do lose. That hasn’t been true of Carolina in years.

Any coach who can get his team to always play hard will get buy-in from the players and support from the fans. Win or lose.

It’s a great point; a huge portion of being an NFL head coach is knowing how to sell your philosophy. Getting your players to believe in what you’re trying to do goes such a long way over the course of a season.

Pretty sure Joe Burrow is the best QB there is. Hasn't missed a beat since coming back from injury and outplaying *Josh Allen* (although James Cook doing him no favours) in a snow game in Buffalo.

Then Burrow throws an awful pick six, proving my curse works on more than one type of football.

4th quarter, 10-10 and Chiefs have ALL the momentum until Andy Reid goes for it on 4th down on his own 31 yard line. Fails, everything changes, and Texans win 20-10.
Also Mahomes throws ten consecutive incompletions/interceptions.

In what comes as no surprise to anyone, but I'd take Josh Allen over Joe Burrow (or any other QB) in the clutch 100 times out of 100. Josh Allen is the greatest dual threat player to ever player in the NFL and it isn't even close. Joe Burrow is a great pocket passer, but this whole Joe Cool "he's never rattled" is BS.

Statistically it isn't close. C'mon man, you're letting your previous opinion on Allen cloud your judgement. He already holds the record for the most rushing TDs by a QB in NFL history and he has another 8 years of play to add to that. He'll put that record out of sight. He has the best QB rating in playoff history. And he is 1st and 2nd in that list. Even without a Super Bowl win he's a 1st ballot Hall of Famer. And the only thing that stops him from having a Super Bowl is the ineptitude of the coaching and talent acquisition around him.

He already holds the record for the most rushing TDs by a QB in NFL history and he has another 8 years of play to add to that. He'll put that record out of sight. He has the best QB rating in playoff history. And he is 1st and 2nd in that list. Even without a Super Bowl win he's a 1st ballot Hall of Famer. And the only thing that stops him from having a Super Bowl is the ineptitude of the coaching and talent acquisition around him.

Don’t disagree with the last point (never forgive McDermott for benching Tyrod Taylor for Nathan fucking Peterman). Also agree that whether or not Allen wins an SB, he should be a HoFer for sure.

But, in terms of rushing statistics, it’s really only his TD count that blows his peers away. Granted, the score is the most important thing in the game, so I don’t mean to denigrate his wild TD/rush ratio (it’s legit absurd).

Maybe it’s just one of those things where the players you see at age 7 thru 11ish take on a kind of mythic quality, but I’d have to see some unbelievably wild shit to knock Michael Vick off that throne for me. Which, to be clear, is setting aside his horrific off-field actions, which are a separate conversation I’m really not trying to have right now.

I’m very impressed with Allen this season, tho much like last year I think James Cook’s importance to the Buffalo offense is being criminally overlooked (not necessarily by you, mate).

Reasonable reply, and yeah Michael Vick was insane as a runner. But my point was dual threat, and he was nowhere near as good a passer as Allen. Taking just their running ability, sure Vick, Lamar, and my personal favourite, Randall Cunningham could be considered better.

But add in what Allen can do throwing the ball and it isn't really close, Josh Allen is the best ever dual threat. Especially when you consider his performances in the playoffs and the overall lack of talent around him (James Cook excepted, who is proving to be a current top 5 RB). The closest comparison for me is John Elway, but he didn't really start showing it until he had HoFers Terrell Davis and Shannon Sharpe in the offense with him. Allen literally puts this Bills team on his back, under his Superman cape, and drags them to victory by himself. Without him the Bills win 3 games max.
