The NFL Thread

Surprised the Steelers didn't try to get a couple of receivers in before the deadline.
Rodgers really struggled since the Metcalf was double teamed every time he showed his face. He really didn't have anyone to throw to.
Bit sad to see Rodgers had his 'Fantastic' button dialled right back down though, but the Steelers front office didn't help him one bit.
That said, I think it's wrong when a QB throws a perfect ball to a receiver 20 yards away, and he just loses concentration and the ball skids off his hands to a defender who fucks off up the pitch, and that's called a QB interception.

That one is funny in that offensive coaches see things like bubble screens and other “behind the LoS” passes as, effectively, running plays.

At least the stat counts toward receiving yards, though, so the player isn’t entirely shafted there.

Bryce Young is unbelievably clutch. Too bad the Carolina defense is still stupid brittle.

After his first season it would have been easy for him to completely fall apart. But fair play to Young for getting the Panthers in a position where they can win their division.

When he got benched for Dalton he looked empty. Like a manager who knows he’s sacked tomorrow or has run out of answers.

I thought he was cooked.

It's always going to be one of those fun sliding doors moments to think about.

It's good to see, so easy for a QB to be written off due to being on an incredibly bad team. See Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield, although admittedly there's also Zach Wilson to fly against that.

Shedeur Sanders in for the the Browns at QB (and getting repeatedly nailed) who are currently beating the ravens thanks to their defence, Miles Garrett has four sacks.

Darnold currently regressing under pressure from the Rams pass rush.

The warning signs were all over Wilson’s film at BYU tbf; teams were (and often are) seduced by his “arm talent”. Add to that going to the Jets, and whatever small chance he might have had was snuffed out of the gate.

The Adama Effect, if you like.

Chiefs putting the cap on a shit weekend of sport. England even tried to chuck it away in the rugby FFS.

Anyone feel even remotely confident picking division winners? Some tasty races - assuming Pats and Eagles win, then:
NFC north - Bears lead but third favourites to win. Lions currently outside the playoffs.
NFC west - Rams strongly favoured but only one game ahead of Seahawks and 49ers in a playoff position.
NFC south - least bad will win, Bucs strong favourites.
AFC west - Broncos should win but Chargers are 7-4 and can we really discount the Chiefs? (hopefully yes).
AFC north - Ravens and Steelers both 6-5.
and finally AFC south - Colts ahead but losing momentum and a tough schedule. Jags 1 game behind and an easy schedule but a history of nerves. Texans still have Colts twice and 'finding form'. 11% chance of winning the division so I haven't given up hope.

New England is going to win it entirely because Drake Maye went to Charlotte’s most bourgeois public school. It’s universal spite against me personally I tells ya!

I did think the Pats would be a much improved team this year, but nobody would have predicted this good. Having said that, I still think their bubble will burst in the playoffs - maybe because Drake Maye went to public school in Charlotte.

@Dennisons Wrong Foot

I knew y’all’s defense in Houston was good but here’s a stat I didn’t believe at first: the Texans have more interceptions (11) this season than they do TDs allowed (10).

That’s absolutely bananas.
