The NFL Thread

I think it'll be a blip. Skins have gone from 4-12 to 9-7, so are on the way up and RGIII and his hype and baggage will be a thing of the past with Cousins the first choice QB. Eagles and Giants will have new Head Coaches next year and Romo missed the vast majority of the season for the Cowboys so I think next year it'll be stronger.

the skins traded so much for RG3, they're just starting to recover from his disaster. it'll be another few years before the management is back on track in regards to drafts

So the 4 road teams all won this week and will all be favourites to lose next week. Will there be an upset and if so where? Pats haven't been as consistent as other years and the Chiefs have 11 on the spin, Packers offence played like 2010 today and Seahawks have the experience versus the Carolina rookies, so cases can be made for all of those. Cannot see beyond a Bronco's win in Denver though

Panthers were in the playoffs the last 2 years.

(but yeah, I don't feel particularly confident)

The Rams are moving back to LA (a mere 1825 miles away) for next season. Could be followed by the Chargers the following year. Raiders aren't going there, but not necessarily staying in Oakland either. I understand the franchise nature of American sport and it being about the corporate entity not the City, but it always seems a strange one to someone brought up on UK sport.

So what do the people do who watch the Rams? Go watch someone else?

Not sure really. It's the second time it's happened to them as the Cardinals went to Phoenix from there as well. You are 200+ miles from the Chiefs or Colts so I don't think it really works that way. The Rams moved there from LA in 1994 so there is an element of what goes round.....Although not unexpected at least it was announced post season when relocations have been announced in the past in season fans have dropped the team pretty much instantly, the old Cleveland Browns moving to Baltimore being the one that springs to mind. Chargers and Raiders have to be careful they don't end up creating a similar situation

LA has proven in the past that it can't support NFL teams. The Chargers, Raiders, and Rams are alienating dedicated supporters to move to a city that doesn't care.

The Rams going back to LA I can live with. I would be much more pissed off if the Raiders left Oakland.

Fans are kinda split. Some will keep supporting, others either watch as neutrals until they get a new team or latch onto a localish team. The Baltimore fanbase is still bitter about the colts leaving decades ago and it still comes up in conversation, etc. Rams won't be as bad because they were already established in La previously

The majority of fans here don't like teams moving around either, but we aren't the ones who own the teams. It's usually about greed. I'm just glad LA is getting a team because NFL teams have been using moving to LA as a leveraging threat to get new stadiums all across the league. It's bullshit and almost never a good move for the localities. The bengals especially have a famously disastrous contract with their team.

If you have 15 minutes to waste check out the Jon Oliver clip of stadiums in YouTube, does a good job.

If American football isn't your thing, last night's Green Bay @ Arizona game may just win you over. What an insane game.

Crazy crazy game

21-0

Wilson just hasn't been at the races and Lynch can't get anything going.

bronco receivers need to learn how to catch

Nah. Manning's throws are just shit nowadays. Makes them stretch for them too much.

they missed numerous balls that were right on their hands.

manning was rusty though, for sure.
