The NFL Thread

thread's really died the last few weeks, what's up with that

these are the best games, this is the time to watch!

Lots of teams I don't really like, playing each other. I'll be cheered up in time for the Super Bowl

oh come now

you can all be panther fans for the playoffs. :shakehand:

I guess so...Just really glad the cheeseheads messed up over the weekend. Really gave me a good laugh when the tied the game with the last play of regulation and then got stuffed in 3 plays in OT :icon_lol:

NFC is still exciting and whoever wins that I would have thought 99% of people will be supporting in the Superbowl.
AFC totally meh...like a 'would you rather kiss your sister or your mum' competition

Anyway all about Doug Pederson's barmy army in 2016

Anyone but the patriots for the Super Bowl and I'm happy

Same for me. Anyone but the Patriots. As much as I dislike them though, i'll still watch the Superbowl if they get there. Love Superbowl day.

As long as the panthers don't win I'm happy. Seahawks should have won!

I know.

But It was just an awful start, and I never understand why teams refuse FGs in the second quarter. If they'd taken that instead of turnover on downs they'd have been in with a right chance at the end.

Panthers should cruise this Superbowl having seen the standard of the other three teams left in it.

For those that know way more than me Pederson has said he will call his own plays on offense and therefore won't have a OC, is this unusual?

Tell me about it, had in them in my Yankee on the theory that there would be an upset in one of the four games and the Hawks were the most likely

A head coach calling his own plays is not too strange, however I'm not sure I've ever heard of a team not having an OC of any sort before.

He's having a OL coach, but at the moment that's it. I know he's an ex QB, but surely he'll have a coach for those....with Bradford he'll need one!

uhm.... what

I know.

"just". yes, the team that "should have won" "just" got spanked 31-0 in the opening half. Obviously, they were the better team. They only scored so rapidly because the Panthers were playing prevent defense and took their foot off the gas. there's a reason there wasn't as much pressure on Wilson in the 2nd half, and it's not because seattle's o-line suddenly got better.

going for the conversion was the right call. it was statistically a 50/50 shot and when you're down that much a field goal is statistically unhelpful.

plenty of teams would have taken the FG, and Carroll may even have if the game were closer, but he's known to be a gambler anyway. can't get too mad when his style of play calling is what's won them games before. can't fawn over him when it works ("so gutsy, doing what it takes to win!") and then talk smack when it doesn't ("too risky, take the easy points!").

everyone excited for championship sunday?!?!

Definitely watching the Broncos/Patriots and I'll see how far I get in the panthers game - have to be up at 6 for work
