The NFL Thread

Of course, there will always be bad owners who will drive their franchises to consistent mediocrity. Your Fulham is learning all about that, Kahn also owns the Jacksonville Jaguars and they've been terrible for years.

On the other side of the coin though, Sheikh Mansour and Roman Abramovich can't rock up in the NFL and buy numerous Superbowls.

The way the structure is anyone can win, anyone can have a good season. It's competitive unlike most of Europe's top football leagues which I like.

I guess that's why the draft system works so well, as does the salary cap. One wouldn't work here but the second definitely would.

Thank God. Get him out of here. I'm tired of hearing about him every two seconds.

YOU SHUT YOUR FACE!!! *sobs*

You don't live in Carolina's market, man, it's insufferable down here.

Well this is going to be a quiet season for the Ravens again.

most rumors are putting smitty on the ravens

He'll probably go to New Orleans, just to piss me off.

Saints have very little cap space and still have to sign Graham and have just lavished $54m on Jairus Byrd from the Bills. No way they'll have the cap room to afford Smith.

I know, I'm just being facetious.

What you hoping the bills do with 9th pick?

Good question! They have needs along the o-line, at wr, at te and at lb. I think they may go OT as right tackle may be their biggest position of need, but I'd quite like to see a legitimate big bodied receiver in the Megatron/Damarious Thomas mould to give EJ Manuel a decent target.

You think EJ is a long term answer?

In a similar position to Vikings in that none of the supposed top 5 players (3 QB's watkins and clowney) will probably be gone but the draft class is supposedly one of the best in a while anyway. I don't really know much about college football to know too much.

I prefer college to professional, I can confirm that the class this year is deeper than most.

I meant none of the top 5 will be left

Injuries aside he did ok for a rookie qb (not named Luck or Griffin III). He had 2 or 3 very good games and 2 stinkers and 4 or 5 somewhere in between. But 3 injuries and 6 games missed is discouraging. He needs put a solid season together this year or the Bills will be drafting a QB in the first round again in 2015. I'll say one thing, I'm glad we got EJ and not Geno Smith...

I can never get my head around this. Why the preference?

Raised into that way, I suppose. My parents were at Alabama for school during our late 70s Bear Bryant heyday. College sports have always appealed to me more (I especially prefer college basketball to NBA).

There's not much between NCAAF and NFL for me, but Alabama is my truest sport connection.
