The NFL Thread

Nick Foles gets the starting job in Chicago whilst Carson Wentz is statistically the worst QB in the NFL. He's thrown as many TD passes in 16 minutes as Wentz has in 3 games

Catching up on the Bears comeback last night was considerably more enjoyable than catching up on the football.
But whether Foles or Trubisky as QB, they won't stay unbeaten unless they tighten up the D.

If anyone wants some entertainment watch the Falcons highlights. Some of the DB play is horrific.

And also managing to give away 3 unanswered TDs in 6 minutes. Last two drives whilst leading... 1:22 taken off the clock for 8 plays. HOW!!? 6 yards of offence while leading in the 4th in 3 drives. Worst coached team in the league.

Don't want to say I told people so, but...

I told people so.

Nah Foles will only ever be a streaky player. He'll go on a 3 game hot streak and then blow up, that's his career. Wentz looks shot though either hangs on to the ball too long for a sack or sails it over his receivers head. The Hurts pick has killed him mentally which is half on the front office for smelling their own shit with the old best player available shite and half on him for being mentally weak

Foles career is more like, play incredibly well, then get shipped off to a disaster zone.

Chicago ain't great, but they're a hell of a lot better than Jacksonville last year or St. Louis when Foles went there. He'll do alright for the Bears.

I was fairly happy to see Foles come in and I just don’t think that Trubisky has handled the pressure of having a genuine threat very well, he’s looked more shaky than normal.
Would be happy to see Foles get a decent run and no Alan, you’re wrong... Chicago are brilliant ;)

Tennessee and Minnesota shut down operations after multiple players test positive for COVID.

It's almost as if using a 1st round pick on a guy who had only started for one season in college was a bad idea...

Chicago has also weirdly underperformed on D so far. They get that sorted, and Foles keeps up the form we know he's capable of producing, and they'll be a genuine threat in the postseason.

Texans had several false positives. Haven't read anything to say they have shut down. But Titans, yes, 3 players and 5 staff tested positive so they have shut down in-person team activities. Also the Vikings because they just played the Titans.

Ah, fuck, yes it was Minnesota, not Houston. Not sure how I misremembered that so badly.

I haven't seen anything of the Monday night game but it certainly seems like the champions put the upstart pretenders well and truly in their place... reading a bit seems they did a good job of making Jackson play QB not RB and he flunked the test a bit.

I watched it this morning, Harbaugh is pupil against master and Andy always has his number

Andy Reid is one of the greatest coaches of all time IMO. Hasn't won as many rings as Belichick, but what he has done he has achieved without being a cheating, miserable douchebag..

Steelers v Titans game postponed until later in the season after a number of positive tests amongst Titans players and personnel. Vikings just played them so will be mighty worried I'd have thought.

Cam Newton tests positive for Covid, out of the Pat's v Chiefs game tomorrow.

Was looking forward to that one tomorrow night too. No surprise its been called off as its unlikely that just Newton will have it on his own.

First 3 weeks went well, now starting to fall apart. Season needs to finish, Philly need that high draft pick!
