The NFL Thread

Houston first week, though work is finished by Thursday and then LA the week after, but don't need to be there until Tuesday. So I was thinking of going pretty much anywhere interesting between.
Let me know the weekend and I'll look at the fixtures

Just had a look - it's the 13th and Rams are playing the 49ers. Still some tickets left on the official site too... Very tempted to just buy one now! Might be a bit weird being there by myself though.

That's a divisional game so a decent rivalry. I've not been but worth bearing in mind that they are playing at the Coliseum until their new ground is built, which is good for reminiscing about Carl Lewis in 1984, but I believe a little tired. I've been to a game on my own before, it didn't bother me, although if you want a few beers then take out a mortgage

I'm sure there are some fan sites that can sort you out for a tailgate party if you want to.

McCoy cut by Buffalo, signed almost immediately by the Chiefs. Bit of a shocker. Wade also cut, but will be on their practice squad I'm sure.
Back to Big Red for a season before retiring. It's good for them as they are in win now mode before paying Mahomes an NFL record amount next Summer and not someone who's going to help a developmental team like the Bills. You were right about keeping a FB on the team though

Yeah, Chiefs are good landing spot for him, gives him a shot at a ring this year. Wade has made it onto the Bills practice squad, will stay there for a year. Gets to watch future Hall of Famer Frank Gore every day, which can only help him.

I actually think the Bills could be decent this year, they have a shot at a Wild Card if Josh Allen can put things together. Dolphins are going to stink. Some teams on the rise that hopefully will shake up the Patriots/Steelers domination of the AFC playoffs. Browns, Chiefs, Texans, Jets, Ravens and Bills will be teams to watch out for in the AFC. Patriots will still be in the Championship.game this year but eventually their star will fade. Hopefully soon.

Thanks both. Will take a look. Coliseum actually looks quite cool.

When do the team returns come out usually? I can't remember. I was on my honeymoon when the original lot of tickets went on sale so if I don't get team returns for a game i'll have to miss it this year.

Antonio Brown is going to be suspended by the Raiders. New poster boy needed for the LV move

Threatening to smack the GM, but he's spent the whole Summer acting a dick. He's either an absolute helmet or he has some mh issues he needs help with

Brown is wrong on the helmet for a variety of reasons and NOCSEA are right. As far as I know Antonio Brown is not a materials scientist and somebody should explain to him why a helmet has an 'obsolescence' date. (The Xenith helmet is a very good helmet although the VICIS helmet is the best by a good margin).

I do feel for him a bit here as missing practices because of an equipment issue could lead to a change in performance and now he has his new equipment he should be ready to go. The GM screaming at him and then fining him seems daft to me, either trade him or play him. Fining and suspending him doesn't help the Raiders at all.

Fining and suspending him is the least they can do. Brown posted pictures of a confidential letter sent by Mayock on instagram, when Mayock confronted him about it Brown told him he would punch him in the face, had to be held back by team mates, punted a ball said "fine me for that" then walked off. :icon_lol: he will be lucky not to get cut.

He certainly seems a bit unhinged and a "character". Didn't he get a hot air balloon in for his first day at the Raiders?

You can just imagine some of his team-mates or the less well paid lads in the practice squad looking up, seeing that and thinking "what a prick".

Yeah the Raiders have a lot of young rookies and undrafted free agents too so it sends out the wrong message if they let him get away with it. He's been there a matter of months, season hasn't even started for them and so far he has;

- Threatened not to play due to the helmet situation.
- Caused injuries to his feet by using the Cryo machine incorrectly.
- Posted a confidential letter between the Raiders and him on Instagram.
- Had a bust up with the GM where the players had to hold him back.

Shame as he's the best receiver in the NFL, but it's not worth the hassle.
