The NFL Thread

Still going well for the Vikings, I fancy us against anyone except the panthers in the nfc and even then we almost beat them but for a few mistakes the other week. The Cam Newton factor is big though, he’s incredible on his day.

I can’t see past the patriots for the super bowl though

As the Vikings will be at home for both play off games and then the Super Bowl you have to heavily fancy them. Is probably not practical commercially, but it's a shame there isn't a contingency plan in place to avoid home field advantage in the SB.

Newton is shite, he folds against any kind of decent defense. It's Greg Olsen you have to cover.

Shut down Olsen and you shut down Cam.

I guess as it’s literally never happened before it hasn’t been an issue until potentially this year

They won't change anything. Having a SB on home turf has been a talking point in years past, but mostly as a "wouldn't it be cool if x team got to play in the Super Bowl in their own stadium" thing. We don't see that possibility as a negative. The odds of it happening just seem too small. Maybe it will be revisited somewhere down the line, but I would be seriously shocked.

Bump for Punts to get his entry in this week.

Steelers v Browns, gonna be a cold one. Snowed a lot yesterday and today's temp is something like -17.

I must be :screwy:

That's almost summer compared to other parts of the US isn't it? Didn't I see Niagara had frozen solid in -60 odd? Probably away at Green Bay would be a smidgeon chilly.

I'd already read Big Ben, Bell and Brown weren't playing! I had Browns to win that and they still couldn't! I also had them +5.5 so kept my bet alive though.

I also had Kamara until I saw earlier that Gillislee and Burkhead were both out so Lewis was an easy pick.

I'm doing rather well this week so far [emoji41]

I had Lewis last week, but couldn't squeeze him and Kamara in. The Cowboys D was a great value pick.

That'll do pig. That'll do!

First decent win on NFL in ages.

Buffalo Bills fans have donated around $60000 to Andy Dalton's charity foundation since he threw the TD that put them in the playoffs on Sunday, mostly in $17 amounts, a dollar for each year of their playoff drought. That is pretty awesome.

For those in the FF just a reminder that teams will need to be on Saturday, Bear can you amend the invite?
