The NFL Thread

Vikings are dominating the texans and the new Vikings Stadium is a thing of beauty.

Bored already. I've rediscovered why I fell out of love with this sport. Off to watch Bodvarsson vs Turkey.

I've got gamepass so Im watching Redskins vs Ravens which is a defensive masterclass

Been a shite game for injuries though. Steve Smith and Rick Wagner are both out with an injury.

For all the noise about Wentz, I think Prescott looks the better QB rookie personally. Just as accurate with his arm, but can run the ball as well. He looks the real deal to me.

Got to fear for Denver's 3-0 record with Lynch at QB tonight.

Atlanta put some quick points on but penalties and some overthrown balls ended drives early.

Fortunately D is stopping the rush and they can't get pass going

Vikes are 5-0 heading into bye week, nice! No Diggs tonight but Thielen and Patterson stepped up and still no turnovers with the defence getting another pick. Lovely stuff.

Agree about Prescott, that cowboys o-line is ridiculous though, allows Elliott and Prescott to show off their skills perfectly

Oh dear. Panthers lose again to go bottom of the division 1-4. Can't see them even making the playoffs if they carry on like this.

Last year was a fluke for them. The defense has regressed ever-so-slightly and that's all it took to undo them as a team.

To be fair they didn't have Cam last night and Anderson threw a INT from the 1 yard line when they had been running it well all game

So the raiders are trying to move 600miles away to Vegas. What happens to current raiders fans? Who do they now follow? 49ers?

And whose going to suddenly start going to games in Vegas

Oakland fans aren't going to suddenly support the 49ers.
Over time they probably will. (Not all obviously) In the same way as most probably weren't Raiders fans when they were in LA. Ultimately the Niners will be their closest side just over the GGB. Divisional rivalries matter a lot more than local ones in the NFL, for example Eagles fans hate Dallas way more than Baltimore who are down the road or the Steelers who are in the same State

Washington hate Baltimore (as well as Dallas and the NY Giants obviously).

Oakland fans are a bit of an oddity though. Complete lunatics. Reminds me of St Pauli in some ways.

Well no one else is anywhere near! As mentioned, divisional rivalries are more important.

And id say nothing is beyond the realms of possibility when they causally move teams across the country.

Oakland fans stayed with the Raiders when they went to LA though.

This but it seems that Las Vegas seems to trying to get a few teams across the American sports. it certainly seems like another boom period for Las Vegas again.

Still doesnt seem right that teams can move City to City.

When franchises move shop a lot of fans will continue bowing to the shirt, so to speak. Many St. Louis fans, for example, still love the LA Rams. For these fans, the team is not really linked to geography. The team is the team regardless, much like family is family even if they move away.

The other subset of fans view the move as betrayal, and will burn their old paraphernalia without hesitation. But I'd say most people here are the former.

 Chicago Bears this season... 13-0 up and looks like they're going to throw it away to the bloody Jags
