The Nerdy Dr Who Geekfest Thread

I did not like that episode unfortunately.

Another shout out for Capaldi - he's absolutely nailed the character. Love him.

He is brilliant. Also, he is bringing the best out of Coleman, which means she isn't quite as annoying as she was in tandem with Matt Smith. Still a long way to go to make the Clara character likeable, but she is at least now better than Adric, which is a start.

Yep I'd agree with that. The chemistry between the two is very very good.

It may be amusing to you but it's quite sad for me,so :emot-fuckoff: :bigfinger: :)

Almost every review I've read is ranting and raving about it so at least I know it's me and not you.

Really?!?! The only negative review I've seen of it is yours! Everyone I've spoken to via Facebook/Twitter thought it was good. Or great.

After the lacklustre first episode of the series my hopes weren't high but the last 3 episodes have all been really good.

Well that's what I meant, almost everyone saying it's anything from good to brilliant to the best episode ever. :)
I thought last week's was pretty good and the first one not too bad so it's not all doom and gloom.Doctor Who is the only series I'll watch no matter how I feel, hoping next time will be fab.

When did the TARDIS get this telepathic goo thing on the main console?
Is timelord not a race now? :)

Ah sorry, misunderstood - yep, seems like it's just you again!

The TARDIS has had a telepathic circuit before - the third doctor sent a message to the time lords from it once, so that's not a new thing.

Creepy episode at the start. They never explained who was under the blanket either.

Yet another comment about Clara's life expectancy...

Most people seem to think it was just a kid having fun,and we should let some things be unexplained. :)
Visiting Gallifrey is now easy, and they have to go to an academy to become timelords!

Well the last few episodes has been Dr Clara and the Doctor has been a rambling fool sidekick imo,so it's important how long Clara will be with us.

This Doctor is easily the one who most resembles the great Tom Baker since the show returned 9 years ago. That's why he's ace.

Just watched, not much really seemed to happen and it was quite strange but still enjoyable!

I do like Capaldi's doctor, let that be on file. Not so much in this episode tho. :)

BBC moving Dr Who to its 8.30 slot and demanding that anyone who watches Dr Who watches Strictly, which starts at 7.30

I rarely watch it 'live' anyway so I'm not fussed - they can show Dr Who whenever they want but Strictly really can fuck off. An abomination of a programme - I'd rather watch The Inbetweeners box set than sit through garbage like Strictly.

YOU'RE WATCHING FAMOUS PEOPLE DANCE - WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?

It sums up everything that is wrong with this country in that a dumbed down train wreck of an idea such as z-list cuntbag celebrities dancing whilst wearing posh stuff (seriously - Monkey Tennis, Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank and Knowing M.E. Knowing You were more original and basically better ideas) gets such mass publicity, and gets the brainless quota of this fucked up country nattering about it on a Monday morning infecting the air around me.

Fortunately, my TV set has an 'off' button so I never have to suffer the televisual AIDS that is Strictly, but colleagues around me who don't seem to realise how fucking pants it is don't come with a mute button, so I have to suffer along with everyone else. Seriously - go for a walk instead. Try farting. It's more fun.

Not a fan.

So that's a maybe from Langers then.
