The Music Thread Strikes Back

Was that actually separate gigs? Seems a very strange mix if not!
The Streets were the support act. Not *too* weird if you’ve heard some of Kasabian’s more recent stuff. Serge is trying to turn them in to a dance group where he’s the front man and focus. The Streets have a fair few bangers so on that front, it makes sense!

It's a British trait that support acts and most festivals are so genre specific. In Europe & the states support acts & festivals are much more eclectic.

I get that when young & developing an identity people may define themselves more narrowly, & latch on to one particular brand, but I don't understand how people cling to narrow styles of music forso long. There's so much good stuff in so many different areas.
Hellfest in France is genre specific. Dynamo and Aardshock in Holland are genre specific. Rock am Ring in Germany is genre specific.

Monsters of Rock has toured Europe on and off for over 40 years.

It's not a British thing at all.

I dont want eclectic at a metal festival ta very much.

Doing the rounds on social media:

Your age is 70 minus the number of acts you recognise from the Coachella 2025 lineup.
