The Music Thread Strikes Back

I used to love the Presidents when I was about 18 or so. Really cool band. Saw them at a festival a few years back and they didn't disappoint. At one point they played eachothers guitars, whilst still be strapped to the other (if that makes sense!?).

Yep they still do that. Their new move involves them tossing their guitars to each other mid-song, catching them and continuing like nothing happened.... very cool bunch of guys.

The new Miike Snow album is a difficult first listen but has started to grow on me. Excellent video for the single too -

Jet have split up. A cracking live band. Never got their 3rd album but loved the first 2.

Here's a Jet song.

Watched Charlie Simpson at Birmingham Academy on Saturday. Very talented musician. Shame that people will always tarnish him with the 'bloke from Busted' label - because since he single handidly put an end to that pile of gash, he has proven what a talented songwriter and musician he really is. It was a good solid set which is impressive after one solo album.

Steel Panther this Saturday at Brixton Academy - CAN NOT WAIT.

I'm going to see You Me at Six, again, on Sunday at the old Birmingham Carling academy, its re-opened as Birmingham Ballroom or something like that, gave the tickets to my girlfriend as a birthday present yesterday, love it when shit works out like that.

Gorgeous debut from a new band. Very like Sade.....think they could go far. Not sure which I like more, the tune or the video! its a bit naughty!

Finally got my mitts on the Chemical Brothers Don't Think, a live cd/dvd which arrived this weekend.
Not checked out the dvd yet, as no time, but had the cd on in the car & it booms like a big boomy thing that goes boom!

Was nice to be back in the old Birmingham Carling Academy last night, now renamed the Birmingham Ballroom, they dont seem to have spruced the place up at all but its still a better place to go than the shitty O2 academy.

Rekindling my love for Tool....
