The Music Thread Strikes Back

Capita as in the people who were paying their workers less than minimum wage circa 2019?

Our shit, shit, shit Government loves palming off services to complete cunt companies. Capita, G4S, Serco, name any rail franchise you like...

I watched Incubus on Friday night in Hammersmith Apollo. Always a pleasure. Watched bands there before but don't remember it being such an absolute bitch to get to on the tube. Cracking venue once you're in! Was also intrigued to see they played Eden Project on Saturday. Now *that* looks like a unique venue.

As for Glastonbury, Elton John was class last night. Just hit after hit, but I have to agree with the comments on QOTSA. Their new album is absolute quality and they are sensational live.

I only know Capita because a former exec there now works at my company. Did the digging, wasn't thrilled with what I found.

You can have your TV adapted so it doesn't pick up bbc stations ( or used to be able to pre-freeview) & that meant you could watch any of the commercial channels without having a licence.

My cousin doesn't pay for a license. He watches everything via catchup and on demand.

However he can't ever use iPlayer for that purpose. He watched a series once on there and got a phone call a few weeks later asking why he was watching episodes on iPlayer if he doesn't have a licence. He told them he was away on holiday and someone stayed at his house so must have been them! He's made sure not to use it again.

Yeah, it's not a BBC subscription, it's a TV licence. Watching (or,recording to watch later) any TV show as it is being shown, you need a licence.
Watching on demand after the broadcast is fine (unless it's the Beeb ofc...)

They can't check that :D

Someone winding him up.

Foo's announce tour for next June. I will be going to watch them in London as I have, weirdly, never seen them live and they are a band I want to tick off.

Hmm, probably Villa or Hampden for me then.

Bit of a pain (for me) only weekend gig is London.
Hence that's the one we're going to so the in-laws can fly down from Scotland to have the kids. I imagine tickets will go very quickly.

Support for the Foos over here is some band called the Chats, so looks like they are picking local support bands from the countries they are visiting rather than having one band touring with them globally. I prefer to see that.

The gigs over here sold out very quickly.
