The Music Thread Strikes Back

P. S. If you like faux 80s sounding pop then La Roux did the excellent Kiss & Not Tell:

Public Service Broadcasting have signed up to play at a tiny festival in a park ten minutes walk from my house. That makes me very happy.

Are New Found Glory still going?!

I last saw them about 7 years ago and their best stuff was already getting on a bit by then.

They are indeed. Funnily enough, their new album "Makes Me Sick" is out today if you have Spotify. Their previous album "Resurrection" is worth a listen. It was their first album as a 4 piece.

They're touring the UK in September doing a "20 years of pop punk" thing where they're playing their first two albums in their entirety. I'm off to watch them in Oxford on 21st September and can't wait to pretend I'm 18 again!

Awesome! Lucky git. Race for Space is one of my favourite albums of the last few years.

Saw Public Service Broadcasting at last years Truck Festival and they went down like a lead balloon.

It's ages old! Listen to the whole album.

I dont listen to radio so Im really out of touch with modern music tbh. In saying that...... most modern music I hear is complete garbage anyway so I dont think Im missing out on much.

I wouldn't call that track/album "modern"... it's ten years old! I was introduced to Ladyhawke by my ex-girlfriend who was a fan. Try 'My Delirium', that's also a decent track.

Agree with you about the radio in general, though. We have Radio X on at work which is about the best station I've come across.

And to mess with Johnny75's head a bit, after the huddersfield game I spent the evening painting. Blasted out my old Brit Hop & Amyl House compliation, the leftfield remix of renegade soundwaves self titled track is phenomenal. Also listened to the chemical brothers live at the heavenly social mix. Big beat tastic!

Ladyhawke is ace. Well done Jinks, you've regained some credibility.

Good to see Metal at Glastonbury, but having just looked them up they are not my cup of tea and don't think I'll be watching.

Divine Comedy announce a tour. Tickets on sale today. They're playing the institute in brum.
