"He's worked with Mendes as part of that too which is a big positive if it's true that Mendes is now so central to the club/EM's empire."

:censored:

Mendes is yesterday's man, look at his pool of players. The ones that aren't already at elite clubs or taking Saudi coin are largely shit.

Gedson Fernandes is on Page 1 and he's appalling.

He isn't the main mover and shaker as he used to be.

He makes a lot of his money from doing the work for the clubs these days, whether it is his player or not.
Rest of his ££ is made in Saudi now.

Well this is it, really. He doesn’t need to be a broker for the best leagues in order to collect the best paychecks anymore.

Some big money moves coming up for a lot of players on that list. João Mário, João Neves, Pedro Neto, António Silva, Diogo Costa...

Looked further down the list and Transfermarkt still have Doherty down as worth €4m. Tell you what, it's the January sales and we'll give you 80% off. Get in quick.

Bingo

Bournemouth will be tough, very tough

Forest have improved their manager but they still have a shit squad and an even bigger cunt than at Wolves in charge.

I still wish Nuno all the best, how can you not.

I think that's a bit harsh. His interview said he was at FGR as a coach and wasn't looking to start his career there, more to learn.

If that was his opportunity then he had to take it. He may not get another one. I have admiration for Deeney, as his desire to start at the bottom and learn is admirable and something all aspiring managers should look to do.

It'll be interesting to see how it goes for him.
His first game last night was at the same time as he was on Celebrity Mastermind. His team picked up more points, 1, than he did in his specialist subject, 0

Erik ten Hag must be on thin ice with a mild Christmas ahead. Villa, Forest and Spurs isn’t exactly the fixtures you’d choose if you were in his shoes.

You break it all down:

- Not just out of the CL from what looked a seriously easy group to finish 2nd, but bottom and out altogether. Only win was 1-0 and the opponents missed a penalty with the last kick of the game

- Most pre-Christmas defeats for Man Utd since 1930

- Below a team managed by David Moyes, who they sacked nearly 10 years ago

- £72m striker has 0 goals and 0 assists

- £50m keeper looks fucking terrible

- Pillars of the current team are Evans, Maguire and McTominay, one bloke they allowed to train as he's an ex-player and the other two who he tried to sell four months ago

- £80m Antony looking like Sheyi Ojo

- Same goals scored as Luton, who've played a game less

- At least three of their early season wins (Wolves, Forest, Brentford) were incredibly fortunate

- Absolutely zero discernible style of play

- Can't get a tune out of Rashford or Fernandes

He should be on shakier ground than he is.

Presumably they are waiting for the Ratcliffe semi takeover to go through and will bullet him then

Forgot a couple off the checklist, signed Mount for >£50m for literally no reason (not his fault he's injured but where does he even fit) and totally alienated Sancho to the point he's still banned from the club canteen, four months after he last played a game.

You'd struggle to do a worse job if you tried.

I heard a theory once that you actually have to do a spectacularly terrible job as a Sky Six manager for anyone to actually notice.

They've just such a financial advantage over everyone else that you can just keep taking punts on £35 million players (to take an entirely random figure...) without it even making so much as a ripple in FFP.

The fact that a whole bunch of Man U and Chelsea managers have managed to do such a terrible job that they're no better than we are is quite spectacular.

I’m surprised he’s lasted until now.
Football is atrocious as are results to a point most that losing to them is seen as a very disappointing result.
Man Utd problems run far deeper though, ownership, recruitment and club direction have zero joined up thinking and research into players incoming is limited to non existent.
Doesn’t help Ten Haag that he thought they were solid today and it was just a case of taking their chances.
