He was also clinging on to his job at that point. Forest were actively looking for a replacement and spoke with a few, inc Lage....then came to their senses and gave Cooper a new deal

They were looking to boot him out at the time weren't they? There seemed to be a period where he was on the brink but then surprisingly signed a new deal.
Yeah, they also lost 4-0 to Leicester around the same time and looked quite badly out of their depth.

Nuno apparently got a huge bonus if he signed before Christmas, it’s known as the Santo clause

Say what you want about Nuno in football but that 250K contribution he gave to the people of Wolverhampton will always speak volumes about how he felt about us. Personally, I will always want Nuno to be successful, Forest, not so much.

Looks like Troy Deeney is getting the Forest Green job. Bit of a snake Garry Monk at Swansea move.
I think that's a bit harsh. His interview said he was at FGR as a coach and wasn't looking to start his career there, more to learn.

If that was his opportunity then he had to take it. He may not get another one. I have admiration for Deeney, as his desire to start at the bottom and learn is admirable and something all aspiring managers should look to do.

It'll be interesting to see how it goes for him.

It's been 4 1/2 years, but it's still too soon for me to wish him well. Still scarred.

Kevin Rowland called, he wants his hat back.

Looks a lot thinner than before (not that he was chunky then).

Looks back to when he arrived at Wolves

With that cap the jacket needs to be Stone Island with the badge turned to camera.

He looks trim though

Just made me realise, we've never had a properly big fat manager in my time. McGhee would be closest.

Docherty was in your lifetime if not your supporting lifetime?

Yeah, I don't remember him though. I was only just about 4 when he left.

You'd have loved him. On the one hand the Bhattis were in true destroy the club mode by then, on the other he didn't give a fuck and showed it. Behaved and spoke like his bosses were twats but without considering the fans love of the club when doing so. I was only about 12 myself at the time, but his behaviour was so transparent it was obvious to a kid

I did watch this a while back:

I wouldn't say it shows anyone in a particularly good light other than the two lads trying to get a contract.

Not seen that before I'll take a proper look later thanks. I do remember Derek Ryan though, one of a number of kids from 84-86 who were thrown in too early, who probably wouldn't have ever been good enough, but in that environment had no chance

I'll warn you right now, the youth coach comes across as an absolutely gigantic prick :D I know it was the 80s and I remember growing up in the 80s, it's not today and would be unfair to draw a direct comparison, but even still.

That's from his Wednesday days though, it's just middle aged spread.

He wasn't fat at Wolves.
