The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2022/23

Begs the question why he didn't go when they lost the playoffs I suppose, he must have known all that.

Also a cautionary tale about relying on loan players.
Presume a promise of players/cash but turns out they are potless. He must be annoyed as he could have had the Palace job in May

From what I know, he got offered the job then they changed their mind when they realised they might be able to get Nuno. When they went back to him he turned them down understandably…

It was a shootout between him and the new Albion manager. Nuno came over the top and they both lost interest

Funny way to run a club, all three of those play wildly different football, which in turn is wildly different to how Favré (who they thought they'd got) plays.

No idea what Vieira's style is like.

Netherlands going back to van Gaal. What on earth are they doing.

Who was the last non Dutchman to manage them??

John Terry is leaving Villa, bookies have suspended betting on him going to Swansea

I didn't realise John Eustace turned it down last minute.

Terry's statement didn't make it sound like he had anything lined up.

Lee Carsley confirmed as England U21 manager (this has been done for ages) and Ashley Cole assistant.

Well I know nothing about his managerial record but I'm willing to bet he's more suited to the role than Aidy Boothroyd was - that said so would a road cone!

He's got a very good rep at youth level (don't think he ever wanted a first team job, did alright as interim at club level a couple of times but never even asked to be interviewed to keep it).

Cashley has been working in the Chelsea Academy for a while now.

I would say the Dutch should briefly employ a foreigner and the immediately put a Dutch coach back in. When that Czech geezer left they employed Rinus Michels!

Two Steve Bruce snippets:

1) He knew Callum Wilson was injured before they played Southampton last month. Still picked him. Now out until after the next international break

2) He has the most insane contract I've ever heard of. We're all familiar with the concept of a one year rolling deal, as our managers had them for years. Well, wor Steve has a three year rolling deal. He permanently has three years left on his contract. Staggering how that ever got signed off (and no wonder he won't quit)

Watford manager appears to be under some pressure already.

Wonder if they will get to or near to having the most managers of any English team historically. Their recent record is mad.

They've got form, I think Pardew had an 8 year contract at one point
