The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2015/16

Shrewd appointment.

Brian McDermott will today be named as the new Reading manager for a second time.

Surprised he didn't resign and do them for constructive dismissal after this weeks events

Can't really argue with the decision given their form, best make a change while there's time available to rescue the situation.

Can't blame the club given the form, I'd gladly sack Ken tomorrow and get Monk in.

I think the writing was on the wall for Monk after the defeat to Leicester City. At least it gives Rodgers an avenue back into management.

Now maybe my PTG spine can start performing again.

I'm really not sure you want Rodgers in a relegation fight. Still, I've missed his casserole of nonsense in a way.

To be fair, I am just presuming that Rodgers will get the Swansea job. He is favourite with the bookmakers, but if he does return to Swansea he will not have anything like the amount of money to spend as he had at Liverpool.

His transfer record at Swansea was decent to be fair to him.

Moyes must be interested in it, but I'm not sure Swansea will see him as the go to man.

This, would love to see Monk at Wolves, think he brought a great style to Swansea in recent times, even though the form hasn't been great in the last few weeks, they still play attractive football and he knows how to get the most from his players

Please tell me you I can use that phrase, I'm inspired to write an album just so I can name it Casserole of Nonsense :)

I agree with that, Garry Monk for me is one of the brightest talents within the English game with the potential to have a great career. Looking at Swansea I wouldn't place the blame on the coach for the majority of his players having such frail confidence levels which sink whenever they get asked serious football questions.

Swansea's strengths are in midfield. For whatever reason, Monk decided to start trying to bypass Gylfi and Ki and get the ball in quicker to the forward. When your forwards are Gomis and Eder, that's a baffling decision.

I watched their game against Liverpool a couple of weeks ago and much of their game plan was excellent, they played short whenever possible or hit the channels to mix their game up. I thought they were very unfortunate that day with Monk holding his own tactically against the Premier leagues new golden boy flavour of the season manager.

Harsh to call double Bundesliga winner and Champions League finalist Jürgen Klopp "flavour of the season". He's quite clearly one of the top 10 managers in the world, as such I have no idea what he's doing at Liverpool.

It was tongue in cheek though for many whenever he gets things wrong it will be overlooked and not be given the scrutiny of many other managers who may be struggling because of a million things out of their control.

What I have always loved about Klopp though is his ability to throw the reigns off and get his players playing free from fear and with full expression.

As Nando says, start going direct with a ball playing set of players and it will end badly, see Jackett, Kenny.

I can't agree Monk is a bright talent he's just a bog standard direct ball manager. I think Howe, Smith and Neill are all better.

Sky reporting that Swansea are interviewing Avram Grant!

Avram the Sham! Seriously one of the worst managers I have ever seen (Saunders obviously being degrees worse than anyone). Swansea shouldn't get relegated but he probably would take them down, totally clueless.
