"We're in trouble people, let's get Alan fucking Pardew in!"

Not managerial, but Barcelona have terminated the "contract" of their director of football, Zubizarreta.

Losing to David "Football Genius" Moyes was too much even for him.

Ah the genius of putting 10 men behind the ball and lumping it in the general direction of a quick bloke whenever you get the chance, the beautiful game at it's best.

I watched most of that match last night, not usually arsed with watching La Liga but i was bored, and in fairness there was some good defending on display from Sociedad, Messi and Neymar were both woeful when they came on though, you'd expect them to have been a right nuisance against tiring legs but all they did was run into people.

I am a bit surprised at that. Norwich are 7th in the league and only three points away from a play off place.

Reading between the lines it seems like he hasn't handled the pressure of being a manager too well and is resigning for his own good. Norwich bought Mike Phelan in as a coach a few weeks ago so I'd imagine that this has been on the cards for a while and that Phelan will be given the job permanently.

Adams is taking a break from football and then returning to Norwich in some other capacity.

I guess that he has been asked to resign on the basis that there is a job for him at the club after he has taken a break. It wouldn't surprise me if there was some kind of gentleman's agreement that he would resign if asked to do so when he took the job on. It was a strange appointment at the time to make him the permanent manager from his previous role. Didn't Bryn Gunn get promoted from within in a similar fashion before falling on his sword?

Yep, took over from Roeder towards the end of 2008/9, couldn't save them from relegation, got given the gig permanently anyway then was binned after they lost 7-1 at home to Paul Lambert's Colchester on the opening day.

Adams didn't win any games (from an admittedly tough set of fixtures) last season so I'm not sure what qualified him for the job long term. In reality they left it way too long to sack Hughton who had been very poor for a long time, just always snatching a win when he looked destined for the sack, must have done that at least 4-5 times over a 12 month period.

Carles Puyol has also resigned his position at Barcelona.

Did we draw 3-3 with Norwich when Gunn was in charge?

Norwich played well that night. Never stopped running, clearly that was a one off under Gunn

Yeah, he'd not long taken over. SEB was unstoppable that night, our defence let him down big time.

About 30 yards out as I recall. Think he knew there was no chance of him running further than a couple of yards so just turned and belted it.

I didn't mind Carl Cort tbf. His record was alright for us until Hodbod parked him on the right wing.

Paul Jewell joining the coaching team at Albion along with Carlo Nash

Dave Kemp and Gerry Francis too. Francis must have got rid of his homing pigeons...
