The Live Match Discussion Thread: 2019/2020

As per loan thread, never a pen but he will learn from it.

Excellent other than that.

My grandad was a villa fan, though back in his youth he and his mates would go to all local teams - I know albion were mentioned (he lived in willenhall).
They'd cycle there, and hundreds of people would leave their bikes in a field next to the stadium during the game.
Apparently one friday in the pub, my grandad was in there with my nan, who he was "courting" at the time. His mate asked if they were going to the villa saturday, and he said yes. My nan advised him he was not going to the football, he was taking her shopping.
He went to the football.
She refused to speak to him for over a year.
He persisted, and finally talked her round. They married, and she fell pregnant with my dad.
During the pregnancy, he was diagnosed with cancer, and the treatment made him infertile. They never expected him to survive it.
Kinda a sliding doors moment for me!

Apologies for re-derailing the thread...

Watford and West Ham win today and the relegation picture is all done. No way Villa or Bournemouth pick up 7 points from the last 4 games and even then it would rely on the others losing them all.

Not too worried about where in the bottom three they finish as long as they go down. I think if West Ham and Watford can both win it is absolutely done.

Brentford look a decent side, knock it around nicely. Still an outside chance of pipping Albion

They would be clear favourites for the playoff lottery if they don't. I would love them to be able to christen their new stadium in top flight football. Would be a really feelgood story.

Watford behind which gives Villa and Bournemouth a bit of hope. West Ham winning so they are going to be pretty much safe.

Villa to beat a WHU team on the beach on the last day to stay up?

Watford vs West Ham next friday will decide the other 2 teams fate.

Watford are woeful here some players going through the motions, Midfield are playing awful Sarr Hughes and Capoue ball retention is really bad, to be fair Wellbeck looks far more of a threat than Deeney.

Word on motor mouth Deeney who’s always got an opinion on something has looked like a Sunday league player since the re start.

Watford are going down. They won’t beat West Ham who at that point won’t be safe, and they are getting nothing from the last two. Their goal difference will likely be wiped as well.

2 points would be enough probably but I can’t see them getting it. An equaliser here and a draw against West Ham is the best they will do

Can you see Bournemouth or Villa getting wins though?

I cant understand how Watford is in the relegation battle with this team..should be safe really
