The Live Match Discussion Thread: 2019/2020

They know they have the title in the bag now. HOPEFULLY that gives us a decent chance.

Just saying to my lad that Liverpool made hard work of that against a very poor Man U side....we can deffo take them Thursday if we're on it!

One thing to take from this match is that Liverpool are definitely a bit vulnerable at the moment. They're nowhere near the level they were 3 or 4 months back, definitely confident we can get something on Thursday.

Salah makes it two on the break.

Was definitely a few spells in that game where United got a bit of a foothold and perhaps could've made further inroads, I wouldn't be too optimistic about those signs though given Fabinho made his return in the dying stages, he'll bring a lot of stability and security back to their midfield.

Albion 1-0 down to Stoke, awful defending by Hegazi

I saw Diangana went off after 4 minutes. That could be a blow, if it's serious.

If Albion don’t completely bottle it and flop over the promotion line this squad needs completely gutting to have any chance of even finishing 17th. Barely a sign from any player that they might be of the required standard.

Nah. They will have to buy but won't need to do a Villa of Fulham. They are just in the typical bad run the majority of teams get in the Championship. Even we had a sticky patch under Nuno (remember the flapping when Swansea knocked us out of the Cup and Forest beat us at Molineux)

Danny's done a couple of good bits of defending this half.
Charlie Austin coming on with his 'Sergio Aguero look'.

This is a long old sticky patch. Diangana isn’t their player, although I am sure they would want to buy him. Charlie Austin is their only forward with any top flight pedigree. The midfield is dire. The keeper is average at best. Rest of the defence would get torn to pieces. Major major surgery required.

Batth's done ok most of the game. Clear he has just been told you defend and let the others worry about passing. The Division is his level.

Could have gone through the Sheff Utd team and said pretty much the same last year (apart from the Charlie Austin bit of course).

HRK and Zohore are proven not up to it rather than unknown quantities though.

They will need a forward and like every promoted team will need additions but they won't need a new team in my opinion. They are a lot better than they have shown in the last few weeks (like Leeds). I expect both of them to go up but it would be fooking hilarious if Brentford and Flum beat them to it though

To be fair to them, they've done well at competing with championship sides in attritional, scrappy games. I think they're a better side than that but you have to scrap to get out of that league from time to time. Teams bring you down to their level when you're at the top.

They're going through a poor spell of form right now but I think they'll recover. They're better than the vast majority of sides I've seen in that league this season.

What is very obvious is that the standard of football we're seeing at Molineux the moment is a much, much higher standard than you get in that accursed division. We've been spoilt!!
