Not sure Brighton were hard done by, neither of the Winks challenges were yellows as there was little to no contact what so ever. Only themselves to blame imo for not being more attacking against a pretty poor Spurs side, not sure how they are 5th.
He lunges in for both (the first is play acting by brighton guy) but once he’s on a booking I think he should get a second yellow for the one on Gross
With better players (their recruitment isn’t bad) think potter is going to turn them into a very good team. Not sure what mourinho is trying to do with spurs yet at all
I get that he dived in especially for the second but that doesn't make them yellows. I'd be fuming if one of our players got sent off for those 2 challenges and rightly so.
It's a difficult situation for Potter i think, they play good stuff but get quite a few goals from set pieces and he's going to have to choose one way or the other, he'll definitely go the football route but that's a few players he has to phase out to play that way efficiently.
I thought you get yellow for dangerous tackles, contact or not?
Spurs are now a typical Mourinho side, physical, bordering on dirty, cynical but with some very good players.....ends justify the means? fine providing you keep winning
You cant get yellow cards for stupid challenges though, they have to be worthy of them. Neither of those challenges are imo but i also think football has a problem with the severity of challenges and the punishment they receive. There are fouls like the ones we're seeing on Adama this season which are yellows but then simple accidental niggles are also yellows in some instances and no way are they worthy of the same punishment. No idea how this is resolved though unless we see sin bins etc introduced.
He's doing well with what he has i think but yeah players like those mentioned and Burn at left back will need to be improved on.
