The Live Match Discussion Thread: 2019/2020

Thought Southampton did so well against Chelsea. Hasenhuttl's gameplan worked perfectly, followed the lead of other teams to win at Stamford Bridge and were excellent in stifling in Chelsea who barely had a chance. Countered effectively, kept the ball when they had it, thought they looked very dangerous.

Our draw against the Saints doesn't look so bad now.

Liverpool should probably already be in front at Leicester.

Last 2 games are proving that Leicester are closer to the rest of us than City and Liverpool.

Completely outclassed Leicester tonight so glad we’ve got 45 hours to prepare for them cheers PL.

Indeed they've been far too good, and it's now 4.

We could be in the same shoes as Leicester by Sunday evening, outclassed by both City and Liverpool. Definitely a possibility if City and Liverpool match their performance levels.

This Liverpool side is the best I think I have ever seen in English football, and there are some great outfits that they need to best to claim that honour. They are simply magnificent.

In the last 27 matches they’ve picked up 79 points out of a possible 81. Just unreal

On their day there is a chasm between Liverpool City and the 18 teams. Anyone who gets points off either of these has done bloody well. If city are on their game tomorrow they will win by 3. If they are off it and we are on top form then we have a chance. Same with Liverpool. We could get something there too if they are complacent. Where we need to really show up is resurgent Watford.

Even as someone who broadly speaking advocates *some form* of VAR (not the way we use it), that's shit to disallow that goal.

1) There's no way you can definitively say he was offside. No chance. The lines were on top of each other.

2) How far back are you going? Bournemouth had how many chances to clear that?

As soon as they bought the lines out you could tell they were going to disallow it, as they always seem to do so.

This implementation of VAR is the worst thing that's happened to football in a long long time.

I'd rather have to deal with a few bullshit decisions than what we've ended up with.

It's an absolute joke

Absolutely, agree with you.

Media darlings Bournemouth are sliding down the table.

When does Eddie Howe start coming under pressure?
