The January 2025 Transfer Thread

Yeah, didn't really play all that much for the national team. Not really at all when he was at his 80s peak. But did literally fight in the Zimbabwean Army before he became a footballer.
Racist Southern Rhodesian army I think.

Born in Durban too, raised in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe.

Did not know that. For some absolute unknown reason I thought he was Welsh. Couldn’t have been more wrong!

We spent LOADS in summer 2022 under Lage

Hwang £18m (technically goes in that window)
Collins £20m
Guedes £27m
Nunes £38m
Kalajdzic £18m
Fair enough, I should have made the point about the quality of spending rather than amount.
Not one of those players had a positive impact on our play, maybe you could say that at least with Hwang we got loads of effort and a few goals and a small profit on Nunes/Collins but that's about it.

I reckon we’ll be the first ever premier league club with 2 Zimbabweans in the same squad.

He's fictional isn't he? Says he plays for AFC Richmond? 🤣
I did think we it said he had a strong connection with Roy Kent it was abit odd.

I just googled Zimbabwean players in all honesty - let’s hope we don’t sign Dani Rojas. Couldn’t bear to see Wendy or Wolfie get killed 😢

Was BG Zimbabwean? Well, you learn something new every day
I remember when he arrived at Liverpool Football Focus trailed the section about him as being about a man who fought guerillas. I was expecting to see him wrestling gorillas 🦍 so was most disappointed.
