What is this based on? His wanting to move to the Prem and safeguard still being in it in August? Or them not liking the payment terms?

I'd be happy with Coady coming back to join the staff in some capacity (because he's an excellent human being) but not as a player.

Just catching up on the thread. Thank Christ someone said it. Just because we are playing 3 at the back doesn't mean he just slots in. VP's middle centre half needs to be aggressive like Agbadou was on Saturday. I also think his on pitch leadership is exaggerated, he wasn't much of an organiser despite the reputation. Off the field he was wonderful though.

Maybe he has seen him play though in champions league, or has looked on line at stats and he’s been described that way. ?

Dawson increasingly moves like Simon Coleman.

He's absolutely miles off the standard now, cracking signing for what we needed two years ago, was always going to be a very short term thing.

I know GON is already toast, but he shares a small portion of blame for Mario's fall from grace imo. The flaws were always there though if you look at his history. Shame he soiled his time here

My completely unsourced theory is he would have made the change earlier but didn't because he knew how it'd play out, only doing so when it became untenable. I can't knock him for making him captain in the first place as it's what I'd have done.

31 years old, out of contract in four months or so (we have a year's option but we're not going to extend it for someone who actively wants to go and is potentially disruptive), nearly a year since he put together two good performances in a row.

Not sure how much more we could have expected.
