Doubt we'd let go of £25M if that was the plan. Re-evaluate in the summer, if we still want him we can try to negotiate a better deal. We're not going to sign Lemina, Gomes and Scott in the same window, surely?
I could see Scott being a loan back for the remainder of the season, if it was to happen.
Sasa and Chiquinho are already excluded and Mosquera doesn't count this season. I doubt Adama would leave even if we wanted to, think he'd gamble on a bigger salary in the Summer. He'd be a candidate to just not register if needs be though. The 17 none qualified players are:Raul was linked to Besiktas yesterday, but I think I'd prefer to keep him here and see how he works with Cunha behind him.
There's no obvious candidate that could drop out of the squad, unless as you say, Neto is done for the season.
Can we drop Sasa and Chiquinho out of the squad as neither are likely to feature this season? Or has that already happened?
Most obvious candidate in terms of a sale is Adama, but not sure there would be any takers. Yerson might go out on loan. Assume that would free up another space. I don't really know how it all works, mind.
Neves, Nunes, Lemina, Gomes, Moutinho, Traore and Scott is overkill though, isn't? It isn't like any of them, other than Scott, really want to be playing in that advanced #8 role either.Doubt we'd let go of £25M if that was the plan. Re-evaluate in the summer, if we still want him we can try to negotiate a better deal.
I don't see Ruben leaving, the quality in signings will give him hope of trophies.Neves' replacement by the looks of it rather than being an immediate best 11 option

I'm one of the people that have gone against the grain with him in the past, when others have been absolutely convinced that he'd leave or we'd sell him, I always said I think he's more sensible than making a big move too soon and he'd stay. But I think it's a natural time for every party concerned for him to go in the summer. He's been a fantastic servant to our club and he'll always be seen as a legend here; but he deserves to go on and play at the absolute top and I think that's what he'll do.I don't see Ruben leaving, the quality in signings will give him hope of trophies.
It's been obvious for a long time that Mendes is trying to push a move to Barcelona for Rúben. He would've gone in the summer if United had signed FdJ.
Not that I disagree, but and it's a massive But someone just said to me "this team is going places." He also said some other stuff I ain't saying.I'm one of the people that have gone against the grain with him in the past, when others have been absolutely convinced that he'd leave or we'd sell him, I always said I think he's more sensible than making a big move too soon and he'd stay. These signings, such as Gomes etc, are being made knowing that Ruben won't be here next season IMO.
That's the reports in the Marca, and it was from an interview with XaviI've read that Xavi doesn't fancy him, that he doesn't think he's a good fit.
I could see Arsenal coming back in for him.
Think it depends how the rest of the season goes, if we get our shit together quickly and climb the table, he might be prepared to stay, I think he genuinely likes being here. Obviously he has to consider his career.
I'm getting proper giddy at the thought of midfield options, Neves, Nunes, Lemina, Gomes, Traore with a backup of Moutinho. I know its unlikely we hold on to all of them but an old man can dream.
