We're not going to sign Lemina, Gomes and Scott in the same window, surely?

I could see Scott being a loan back for the remainder of the season, if it was to happen.

Doubt we'd let go of £25M if that was the plan. Re-evaluate in the summer, if we still want him we can try to negotiate a better deal.

Raul was linked to Besiktas yesterday, but I think I'd prefer to keep him here and see how he works with Cunha behind him.

There's no obvious candidate that could drop out of the squad, unless as you say, Neto is done for the season.

Can we drop Sasa and Chiquinho out of the squad as neither are likely to feature this season? Or has that already happened?

Most obvious candidate in terms of a sale is Adama, but not sure there would be any takers. Yerson might go out on loan. Assume that would free up another space. I don't really know how it all works, mind.
Sasa and Chiquinho are already excluded and Mosquera doesn't count this season. I doubt Adama would leave even if we wanted to, think he'd gamble on a bigger salary in the Summer. He'd be a candidate to just not register if needs be though. The 17 none qualified players are:
Sa, Jonny, Semedo, Toti, Moutinho, Neves, Nunes, Costa, Jimenez, A Traore, Podence, Guedes, Hwang, Neto, Cunha, Lemina and Sarabia, assuming the latter 2 sign

Neves, Nunes, Lemina, Gomes, Moutinho, Traore and Scott is overkill though, isn't? It isn't like any of them, other than Scott, really want to be playing in that advanced #8 role either.

I imagine for City, a reduced fee but the ability to keep him for the remainder of the season could appeal. Some difference from flogging Ruben and Joao solid for four years though!

Matt Hobbs woke up this morning feeling dangerous. Amazing how it's gone from complete apathy to excitement in the space for 3 weeks, at least for me.

Cunha €50m
Lemina €10m
Gomes €17m
Sarabia ???? Not seen any rumours on fee.

Add all that to the £100m we spent in the summer and its a lot of money spent this season! Got to expect at least one big sale in the summer.

I don't see Ruben leaving, the quality in signings will give him hope of trophies.

Why would he sign a new deal in the summer when he can leave for nothing and have his pick of any club? I think it'll be us doing the pushing as you can't just let players of his quality walk for nothing.

I'm one of the people that have gone against the grain with him in the past, when others have been absolutely convinced that he'd leave or we'd sell him, I always said I think he's more sensible than making a big move too soon and he'd stay. But I think it's a natural time for every party concerned for him to go in the summer. He's been a fantastic servant to our club and he'll always be seen as a legend here; but he deserves to go on and play at the absolute top and I think that's what he'll do.

These signings, such as Gomes etc, are being made knowing that Ruben won't be here next season IMO.

It's been obvious for a long time that Mendes is trying to push a move to Barcelona for Rúben. He would've gone in the summer if United had signed FdJ.

I've read that Xavi doesn't fancy him, that he doesn't think he's a good fit.

I could see Arsenal coming back in for him.

Not that I disagree, but and it's a massive But someone just said to me "this team is going places." He also said some other stuff I ain't saying.

I replied, with the gaffer, we have and the signings we are making we will win a trophy inside 3 years, and a European one inside 5.
Julen will cement himself as our best manager since the great Cullis himself.

I think Ruben may just decide to see next season out and see what happens

That's the reports in the Marca, and it was from an interview with Xavi

First time I've been here since 10pm yesterday. I seem to have woken up in a parallel universe in which Wolves have morphed into Man City. How are all you guys posting so rationally? My head is f'in EXPLODING!!! This looks set to be the most transformative day/week in the club's history. Uti's going to be up all night.

Think it depends how the rest of the season goes, if we get our shit together quickly and climb the table, he might be prepared to stay, I think he genuinely likes being here. Obviously he has to consider his career.
I'm getting proper giddy at the thought of midfield options, Neves, Nunes, Lemina, Gomes, Traore with a backup of Moutinho. I know its unlikely we hold on to all of them but an old man can dream.

At the risk of being slightly negative, there doesn't seem much balance in those options if we are to play 3 of. It puts a hell of a lot of pressure on our front 3 scoring pretty much all of our goals.

I can’t see Neves being here next season unless we don’t get the offers for him.

I kind of feel bad for him that he’s still here as she should be playing Champions League football and winning trophies (although we are apparently winning a trophy soon...)
