The Incoming Transfers Everywhere Thread: Summer 2023

By my reckoning that would put the squad full of none Brits, so either we need to sign 21 year olds, Brits or move people out. Unless Neto is done for the year
I'm never sure of the rules but was Neto here long enough before his 21st birthday to qualify as homegrown?

No. Mosquera, RAN and B Traore all stop being ineligible next year as well along with Sasa and Chiquinho being fit so another reason the squad needs a big Summer reshape

Raul was linked to Besiktas yesterday, but I think I'd prefer to keep him here and see how he works with Cunha behind him.

There's no obvious candidate that could drop out of the squad, unless as you say, Neto is done for the season.

Can we drop Sasa and Chiquinho out of the squad as neither are likely to feature this season? Or has that already happened?

Most obvious candidate in terms of a sale is Adama, but not sure there would be any takers. Yerson might go out on loan. Assume that would free up another space. I don't really know how it all works, mind.

Nice to see a mix of here and now signings to go alongside the succession planning. I'm pretty resigned to Neves leaving in the summer so it'll be nice to have Gomes fully upto speed by then to attempt to fill the massive hole he leaves.

Moutinho, Raul, Costa, Adama all go at the end of the year so that's covered off easily.

I'd probably add Hwang, Guedes and possibly Jonny to that also as candidates to be moved on.

Even if Neves does leave, Matheus, Gomes, Lemina & Boubacar are great options going forward. We've transformed a quality but quite slow and cumbersome midfield into a dynamic, athletic midfield group who offer a far greater degree of flexibility, the ability to play Lopetegui's high press and all without really dropping the overall quality.

I'm assuming we've moved on from Bristol's Scott now then.

At the very least this shows perfectly that JL (choose your own pun here) can see what we all can - soon as you get past the first XI there's a massive dropoff.

We can't guarantee we won't be facing a game where Mattheus has a knock, Neves is suspended and Moutinho can't play more than 45. That will hopefully not be a problem soon.

JL seems to like Hwang so I can see him staying.

Guedes definitely, Jonny maybe, he's looked far more like his old self in the last few games, on a decent deal and is good competition for Bueno.

Oh I love Jonny. He's without doubt the best fullback I've ever seen at wolves, I hope I'm wrong but I can just see him being moved.

I think JL does like Hwang in the sense of he's one of the players we have that fit his style but I can see us wanting to replace him with a better technician who can do the same things.

Also while I think about it Hobbs did say some were going under the radar. So he deserves some credit there (assuming these get over the line!)
