You can only get what people are prepared to pay I guess.
He has also been a dick so keeping him at the club is pointless.

Talk Sport saying he will sign a new deal and go on loan.

Might make a comeback under our new Portuguese head coach on 2024...

Would have been better if they had sorted this last week by having Forest sign him...watch their fans spit with rage before a dodgy loan deal with Olympiacos was set up.

Glad he’s gone, but would have liked a fee
There will probably be a fee. Whether now, via the option or a William Jose clause of paying to ensure they go away and never return.

Liam:

Daniel Podence is set to sign a new Wolves contract before leaving to re-join Olympiacos on loan.

No buy option, so we've kicked the can but squeezed the poison short term. I don't know if the Celtic offer was real, but if it were we should have taken it

Has the length of the new contract been reported?
One year plus an option.

I've read on Reddit that were getting 5m for this loan out, I'm very dubious though without further evidence

Have to give Podence great credit here for being prepared to protect our club when he could simply have sat it out. Quite the contrast to Nunes and shows him in a completely different light to that that has been portrayed for the last couple of months. A talented player, no doubt, but finds it hard to do the right things at the right time. Hopefully the loan goes well and we can recapture some significant money on him in the future.

Think it’s more “no one wants you as you’re shit and wanker, sign an extension or train on your own for a year”

I dunno. I don't get the feeling Pod has signed a new contract for Wolves' benefit.

I feel he's been told he'll get his move if he signs an extension or he'll rot in the reserves until May.

I'm not sure why there's so much bad feeling towards Pod. He's a bit of a twat, but he was our twat.

He was never particularly good except for a handful of games, but did score goals and was a danger.

He proved to be decent value at £15m too. He looked every inch a £15m player, no more no less.
