His highlights put me so in mind of Adama, like what if Adama actually knew when to do his crazy shit.

He’s like some weird Adama/Nunes hybrid. Hopefully without their fuckwittery

So in the end we spent more or less to the penny the Nunes profit less amortisation on 2 players if we assume the Gonzalez money came from Guedes. Better than some predicted, but all a bit wank in the grand scheme of things

On the other hand we have all these players now who weren't a factor a year ago (either injured, in the U21s and seemingly miles away, out on loan or not ours yet):

Bentley
Doherty
H Bueno
S Bueno
Dawson
Lemina
J Gomes
Doyle
Bellegarde
Cunha
Sarabia
Gonzalez
Silva
Kalajdzic

Lost Sarkic, Collins, Mosquera, Neves, Moutinho, Nunes, Guedes, Adama, Raul, Costa, maybe Podence too

That's quite a lot of churn in two windows

Well my compliments to matt hobbs and his team, they had players ready, then a decent back up plan if the first choice went tits up.
Outside of a striker i think for a team who had no money two weeks ago, we have reacted really well.
Looking forward to seeing the newbies let rip.

A needed and necessary churn, though. I think there’s some genuine competition throughout the squad now, wage bill is probably down considerably, and we’ve supplemented the squad with some quite aggressive players.

Completely agree, more the perception that we haven't done much, we have

From that list of outgoings, there's only Neves I'm bothered about. Moutinho and Raul were great, but obviously done here. Nunes flattered to deceive, the rest can get in the bin

Yeah, I’d only have wanted to keep Neves. Remains to see what the new players do obviously but when you consider Johnson has gone for circa £45m and Iwobi £22m, we’ve got some good deals (on paper).

I assume the new boys will be registered for the match after next?

The "churn" isn't really finished either, I think wings/forwards are likely to be needing to be addressed. Short of one of our 2 strikers catching fire, goals will be a problem.

That said, this window has finished way better than expected, we have decent depth and more likely to finish 14-16th position now than flirt with relegation.

Are there any potential free agents out there we could bring in, Costa-style?

Half decent window imo, would have liked to see a striker come in but hopefully what we have can stay fit till January.
Actually looking forward to watch us prove all the pessimism going into the season was not warranted.

De Gea is still unattached? Not that I'd necessarily rate him higher than Sá at this point, just surprised at that.

Santi Mina and Alfredo Morelos the only other names that jump out from a quick glance at the free agent list.
