The Incoming Transfers Everywhere Thread: Summer 2023

I get that the natural assumption here is "we're just not willing to spend", but it's also possible that we simply don't think Elvedi is worth what Gladbach are asking, isn't it?
I have a feeling we don't think any of the players are worth what the clubs are asking for them.

Of course a lot of it is us presuming things but even the most optimistic fans must be looking at this thinking what the fuck is going on.

We can't keep trotting that line out as an excuse for every single transfer though. At some point you have to pay the market rate for players or what the selling club is asking. Otherwise you just end up with no-one or simply go down the route of scraping up the dregs and hoping the manager can pull off a miracle.

Touché tbf.

If there's a player the manager wants, why are we quibbling over 2 or 3 million ? this aint 1990 !

I don't think we are signing anyone of note, we might get a bargain or two right at the end but can't see anything other than that.

If that's the case I hope we don't sell another player.
Unfortunately its looking like your posts of fears players won't be replaced had merit as although some of the players we lost weren't starting they were still options off the bench or players you could fall back on if injuries or suspensions hit. I didn't expect them to replace the numbers like for like, 3 or 4 quality additions would be fine but it's not looking likely at the moment.

this seems a shit fest that is hard to explain outside previous overpaid transfers
it can't be cash given the sales we've made
there seem to be a number of teams notionally much worse than us on ffp, albeit we don't know our precise figures
stand still in this division and it'll likely bite you - you'd think they must realise this from the last couple of seasons

'you might as well just announce when you're not on holiday', some wit replied

Leave PTS alone, writing his name on that long piece he "co-authored" was a lot of work, ok?

PSG linked with Nunes.

Wouldn't have been bothered about him going at the end of last season but we can't really sell him as we aren't being given much of anything to use on incomings.

Yeah, if we had Scott coming in as well as a decent right midfielder, it'd be fine as still have 4 players at CM

This is the first season we have had all our transfers ins done by pre season.

It's a disgrace that we raised that much money, and can't even spend a Penny.
Keep seeing we will be fine there are these worse than us.

The 3 teams coming up always have 1 surprise, rarely do all 3 go down.

Most vying for survival and that's all we are doing this season, have strengthened, we are significantly weaker.

The only hope for the season is a shit start, gives Shi, and Fosun a wake-up call and go buy some players.

This season will be a tough watch, entrenched in the bottom 5, hoping there are 3 worse than us.

Luton are gone already.
Then it's anyone's guess and we are right in the mix
