Seems like absolutely bonkers recruitment from Brentford if this is all true.

"That lad who played terribly at his new club and eventually wasn't even first choice? I want him."

There will be some Wolves fans who will use the fact Brentford are interested at all as evidence that Collins is a good player.

They've recruited well over the years but they're not infallible.

Some Wolves fans are just losing their minds due its Brentford wanting him, would not be that big of a thing if it was another club. Yes they are known to find hidden gems and/or turn players into something special with how they do things, but I have never gotten that vibe from Collins.

Brentford has gotten very lucky over the years let's be honest, has to end at some point.

That much has become glaringly obvious!

I'm just not sure I saw anything from Collins that seemed like a green shoot to cling on to.

Have people who think selling Collins is a bad idea even seen him play? Confidence is completely gone. Like Tony I thought the best solution was loaning him out, there is some talent there but personally don't believe we will ever see that on display playing for us.

If Fabio Silva had moved to PSV or Anderlecht and Wolves offered him the chance of PL football I’m sure he’d have leapt at the chance. As it is the cards are stacked in his favour - come back and play well and next move he’s looking at a bigger team, fail and he can still move to the type of clubs he’s being linked with now. If he stays the risk to Wolves is far greater than himself as his value could drop significantly. The fact he doesn’t back himself to get into the team and score goals suggests to me that his character is more Guedes than Costa and if there’s even an iota of truth in that I’d sell for as much as we can get and learn a rather expensive lesson.

See above friend. People just think Brentford have sniffed out something practically no one else has due to their past successes of doing so.

I will put forth now: I have a better chance of becoming Margot Robbie's loveslave, winning the lottery, AND being struck by lightning than Nathan Collins ever becoming a world class CB.

Weren't we linked to Mavrapanos in January? Could be why we're letting Collins go.

As a Stuttgart fan also, I would be torn on that haha. But in all seriousness though, I think Dino would fit in quite nicely with Lop's style of play.

I always thought he did well in his very limited appearances at Arsenal and admittedly haven't seen anything of him in Germany to comment.

He was massive for VfB this past season. He is very, very strong and physical which tbh I thought Wolves were lacking this past season at times and is quicker than he looks. Has a great head on him also if gets good service on corner's. I think could be a very good signing tbh. And Stuttgart is having financial issues, so don't think it would take a ridiculous amount to get him.

I kind of get the argument that he has the nuts and bolts to be a good CB and he's young, but if JL doesn't fancy him then we'd be mad to turn down a quick 5m profit.

I think he'll do well at Brentford - think it's clear JL doesn't fancy him as he has hardly played.

If we are buying players at the discount prices of £8m-£15m and he is happy with it then he isn't expecting ready made players.

The only things he has said inc only wanting players that want to be here...potentially rules put Fab. He has also mentioned targeting players from the Championship.
Lemina and Dawson were well below £15m and both are “ready made” seasoned pros.

Deals like the one for Dawson won’t come around too often. A rival selling you someone to improve you for a pittance fee as a gesture of gratitude for his service and because he wanted to move closer to home.

With Spurs not being able to agree a fee for Raya and seemingly moving on to new targets

Brentford buy Collins for £25m
We give that back plus a magic £15m and get Raya.

I will now go back to sniffing whatever substance Pav was handing out last night.
