The Incoming Transfers Everywhere Thread: Summer 2023

Sure, but as Tony has pointed out, equally we don't want to blow £40m on another RB we're looking to replace in two years.

I just can't imagine United asking a fair price for him, nor do I want to consider his wages.
Loan-to-buy aye it?

But i do agree, not at an extortionate price - but that's always the case with every transfer.

Maybe my opinion of Nelson has more to do with his looks than I realized...

I can't see how we can sign six first team players without some serious shenanigans on Jorge's part in finding loans for some of the out of favour/dead wood. There's the wage bill issue, which Fosun *may* decide it's worth gambling with, and the squad size issue, the combination of which doesn't exactly encourage supermarket sweep

I think the “not expecting key players to leave” line in that article could be important. Significant squad churn incoming?

We surely won't be getting rid of Guedes already, but the others all seem believable. Maybe not Costa (for the same reason as Guedes, although we wouldn't lose money on Diego).

I'm comfortable with any of Semedo, Jonny, Guedes, Adama, Hwang, Podence, Raul or Costa leaving, providing we get those numbers in.
Oh aye, pretty much my list too, but it's hard to imagine any of them being in particular demand

It’s free up space and wage bill rather than warchest generation probs.

A heavy heart when I say Jonny and Raul as they have been two of my favourite players ever.

Guedes is shite, I'd take half what we paid for him. Face like a smacked arse all the time too, like he's doing us a favour wearing our shirt. I'd swap him for Cav right now and I know Cav isn't really a PL player.

The club are also looking at outgoings and Nelson Semedo is one possible departure if the terms are right.

I mean that is the same for any player we have, even Neves

No clue how they are with a RB now but been a link with Atletico since last January for Semedo

Atleti seem to have about 6 left backs but only one recognised right back in Nahuel Molina

If JL doesn't fancy Semedo and Jonny is done that leaves us extremely light at RB even allowing for an incoming such as AWB, or he trusts the kids for cover. Unless we buy 2 RBs of course.
