I don't know what's up with Jonny. The injuries are an obvious conclusion and maybe the correct one, but he came back like his old self which makes me think something else is involved. If it is injuries then lack of effort has definitely been involved as well. Some of his attempts to get back would make Doherty blush. Lopetegui has a relationship with him from the U21s so hopefully can reinvigorate him to at least the level where he's a good backup for both full back positions if needed.

Haven't seen as much of him as you I think, the couple of games I have seen, I wouldn't say there's lack of effort. Dunno what's going on. I've been hopeful that we'd get something like the old Jonny back, but that hope has been fading recently. JL will hopefully get him back on track and he can be a decent back up.

That's correct his name was mentioned along with Saiss and Boly as players we wanted to move on from. Obviously his injuries and contract situation made it more difficult than with those 2. Coincided pretty much with the fallout with Lage, but I don't know if they were connected.

That would be good for him. He needs games at a higher level than U21's. Championship may be a big ask though.

Takes time to develop Alan. He may not be ready for the Championship but will for Lg1.

Look at Lonwjik. I think he'll be on our bench next season in the PL and probably starting in the Championship. But Lg1 is his level right now.

20 now isn't he? I definitely accept it takes time to develop but I would argue that as a Prem club there's only so much time we can give before we have to let him do that development elsewhere on a more permanent basis.
