Dawson is probably good business in the greater scheme of things as this season goes , and possibly longer . If a player is unhappy at a club as he wants to move back to the midlands ( not unhappy with West Ham , just the location ) , then you would like to think that moving closer to home or where he wishes to reside will make him a happier person and player and that might transfer itself to performances on the pitch as well .
An experienced PL player too compared to Felipe who is an unknown quantity in terms of playing in the PL . Better the devil we know etc etc .
However some are suggesting that he will walk straight into the first team . Will he ?
If he were then to remain in the first team alongside Collins , is that not going to stunt the development of Kilman - who , yes I know has had a difficult season , but so have several other players .
I'm just concerned that it could knock Kilman back a lot to suddenly spending most of his time now on the bench . I believe that under JL he will improve in a back 4 formation alongside Collins , of course it will take time , with Dawson and Toti being the back up .

We'll have to wait and see how Dawson actually plays of course when he does get his chance .

Lemina , Cunha , Sarabia , Dawson - 4 players . Not bad going and more than most here expected and the month isn't over yet . Will Gomes happen and maybe a striker as well . I'd say we'd do well to get one more in and I'd be happy with that .

Guedes out is the only confirmed one yet that has left , others on the way out I'm sure as well .

I'd be delighted with Felipe to add to Dawson. I like both Collins and Killman, I want and expect to see them develop into good players at Wolves, but to me it's clear we could make an immediate improvement in overall mentality and dynamic by changing things at the back. Suspect we've tolerated some sub-par performances there for a long time just as we've grown accustomed to it for a while, self included. Doing that would be really decisive management, and I'd like that.

Kilman's development is a bit of a red herring imo. He's 26 at the end of the season, I appreciate he's made less than 100 appearances in the PL which means he gets bucketed in the inexperienced bracket, but I doubt we'll see much development beyond where he's already at. What he lacks is aggression and organisation/leadership which is what we are bringing Dawson in for. Collins can be raw, but you can see the growth is there, not sure that's the case with Kilman, I don't think what he lacks in in him

Maybe playing and training with a player like Dawson will make him see he needs to bring more aggression to his game. Far from a given but we can but hope.

add to that Felipe, possibly Gomes, and maybe even more. it makes a mockery of shi and sellars telling us it is ‘notoriously difficult’ to make good signings in january every year!

The elephant in the room is the striker.

West Ham have got Ings, Forest have got Wood - that’s two of our rivals undoubtedly strengthened. Whatever you’re opinion of them as players, they will get goals.

We need a striker. We absolutely must get one.

I'm not sure Wood will score goals in that team, Ings will depend on if he can stay fit.
