The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

Fish goes much better with white wine and cream based sauces than thick cheesy sauces. Or a really good hollandaise base which can be turned to just about any number of different individual sauces by adding different ingredients.

The only other seafood cheese combo I can think of is lobster thermidor.

I suppose it's the type of cheese used too. A lot of cheeses would be too overpowering.

Fish and cheese? A strange combination.

Fish goes with cheese, although I agree its strange to have them together, on a sandwich, piled high with chips and coleslaw, was nice though. Although I have never managed a full one at Primanti's.

Although making a great sauce is a hugely skillful thing, a lot of people forget that a sauce is effectively window dressing for the star of the show on the plate.

Every time I read this, I worry PPB has turned cannibal.... :yikes:

Fear not Jellybean, although some people get on me tits, I would never eat them! It was sea scallops, prawns, mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, swow peas done in the chefs sauce. Very nice it was :)

Someone once made me a gorgonzola sandwich. It was like I was eating the semi-solidified puss from the devil's zits. Fucking horrible stuff.

I wouldn't normally use gorgonzola very much. Much prefer Stilton or Rocquefort, especially for sauces.

Gorgonzola with pears, sliced apple and grapes, yum.

Talking things Beef Fillet, you could actually make a creamy gorgonzola sauce and pour it over a fillet steak in theory. Might be a little too robust for fillet, so I would probably choose a more flavoursome steak, maybe a ribeye.

Lovely Paddy.

Good luck with the giving up on the fags btw. Keep it up. Just think, all these foods will taste even more delish now you have your buds back :)

I like a bit of gorgonzola with a strong dark beer. Something with a bit of fruitiness to it.
