Cold meat, chips and gravy followed by syrup sponge tonight.

One happy chap :)

Its very rare these days I have pudding. I'm more of a savoury kind of a person.

A Sourdough big bread bap with the middle scooped out and Potato, leek and broccoli soup poured in the middle, then add the scooped out bread ripped into bits and add to the soup.

I like big baps :)

If I have cuts of cold meat then I like it with fried potatoes and a bit of Branston Pickle.

Gonna knock up some kind of curry with the left over chicken from Sunday dinner. Got tikka paste, tomatoes, coconut milk, onion and chilli. Should be alright I reckon.

Visited a friend tonight & got treated to chicken & stuffing, new potatoes, brocolli, swede & carrot mash & gravy. Followed superbly by cheesecake.

To be honest I find roast dinners boring nowadays. I used to like them every Sunday when I was younger but now I can't be doing with them more than once a month. The veg is boring, roast potatoes are too fatty, stuffing can be too stodgy, and the meat is often bland. Other than the occasional pork or beef joint I just don't enjoy them any more. The whole meal is just too stodgy and bloating for my tastes nowadays.

Wife put swede and carrot mash on my Sunday dinner, no words were spoken, but my thoughts were made clear, how she explains the black eye is her problem.
ps. half of that statement is a lie :)
pps. broccoli is just a small piece of field, you may as well eat thistles or pine cones.

The curry was a success - ended up as a kind of biryani but without the sliced boiled egg and cucumber. Had to harbour my urges a bit and not make it too hot for my pussy-ass missus. Nothing a healthy dollop of Hot Lime Pickle didn't sort out though.

This is crazy talk. The veg is good for you, the roasts are nice and fatty, the stuffing is lovely and filling and the meat is the star of the show! Gives you that lovely Sunday bloated feeling :D

Just put him on your 'ignore' list, its easier than trying to explain what's wrong with his post :)

Or, you're a shit cook? :)

I'll probably just do this for dinner tonight. Seems quick and easy:

Does anyone have a Sunday roast dinner every Sunday any more ? Years ago it was a weekly ritual ( which I loved ) , down the pub then back to eat a roast with the football on the tele. I would say these days I have a proper roast dinner on a Sunday once in 5 weeks, which is a shame really( as I love them ) and a sign of the changing times we live in. :(

Next time you do mash for a Sunday dinner, substitute half the potato for sweet potatoes ( or Yams ) not only tastes delicious but has a nice colour to it :)

We used to go round my nans every Sunday when i was a kid, we'd stay there pretty much all day then go to my other nan's in the evening, I was never really a big fan of the Sunday dinner so as soon as me and my sister got into our teens our attendance soon declined as we went and did other stuff instead. Now i hardly ever have a roast dinner, my mom might do one if she see's an offer on chiken or a decent joint but then that doesn't usually end up being on a Sunday anyway.

My girlfriend is a Sunday roast devotee though, every week almost without fail, her mom usually cooks one but every now and again they'll go out for lunch instead, if her folks are on holiday then she'll go out for one either with me or her sister, i usually just end up having something other than a roast though.
