The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

Gousto and similar offers from other providers are an excellent service and absolutely not to be sniffed at. Simple to follow recipes and you get to cook with ingredients you might not choose to pick up on a regular supermarket run as you don’t know where they fit in recipes. Once you know one application and if you like the ingredient you can explore chucking them in with other recipes.

Glad you are enjoying it!

For Epsom W. For one of your 3 fish dishes next week, could I suggest....
This is for 1 person, for 2 of you, just do it twice.
Nice lump of salmon (probably frozen, but doesn't need to be)
A good square of tinfoil
Salmon in the middle
Good squeeze of lemon juice,
Salt and pepper
a sprinkle of Dill
sprinkle of Parsley (optional)
Let it sit whilst you get 2 large mushrooms or 3 medium ones
Slice them very finely until you have a pile of very fine stuff
Pile it on top of the salmon, don't worry if it falls off
Wrap it up in the foil so that the thawing will add to the juices
Into the pre heated oved (180) for about 40 mins (25 mins if the salmon was fresh rather than frozen)
Prepare whatever veg / spuds you like (Baby new potatoes with butter are a terrific choice)
Serve with wine and be ready to receive lots of good stuff from appreciative other.

If you don't like mushrooms, sprinkle a decent bit of honey on it then add a good shake of dark soy sauce.
All the rest is the same.
Mrs WH, if following a slimming thing will go for the mushroom and lemon.
but the honey and soy adds a greater depth of flavour.
In fact she had that tonight!

It’s making me want to rush down to Coles when they open and buy some big bits of cow and the ingredients to make a Bearnaise (personal preference over bordelaise but both are a different world to salad cream)

Yeah, I will make sure I find a Berni Inn next time...
Just the memory of Pad destroying 2 steaks the size of his head at the HH across from Sixfields is forever etched.

Bastards never jenga'd his chips though
