The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

I made an excellent Spice Tailor Rogan Josh last night. Sure it’s a time saver cheat as all the dry spices are there ready to go but they are excellent kits.

Made some chicken tikka from the Al's Kitchen recipe and cooked it on the bbq.

Absolutely sensational. So tasty, I'll be freezing any leftovers to add to a curry.

Al's Kitchen update! Did his 30 minute chicken pathia recipe (which took me more like 50 mins, bit I've always been a slow cook!)

Fucking hell - it's the best meal I've ever cooked.

I bloody love a pathia. Or any sweet and sour curry.

I recommend the Ceylon next Langers. Absolutely delicious!

Resigned myself to the fact I’ll probably always cook like a robot so to make the best of a bad job:

At least with a random pick each week you never know what you’re getting and you do ‘sort’ of get to cook a bit of everything. A positive I guess.

Seriously envious of you guys that can cook. Some of those dishes look/sound amazing.

Ah, there's nowt to it.

Start with some real basics. Like a meal I do for us now but I've been making since I moved to uni nearly 25 years ago.

6 x sausages (veggie ones for us now but if you can go meat, don't compromise - Black Farmer would be superb here)
1 x large onion, chopped
200g x chopped mushrooms
1 x green pepper, chopped
1 x box passata
1 x tin chopped tomatoes
Beef stock (1 x Knorr stock pot works a treat)
300g pasta (fusilli or farfalle work nicely here, dry cheapo stuff is fine)
Season to taste (garlic, pepper, herbs, chili, whatever floats your boat)

Chop the veg, fry it in vegetable oil in a hot saucepan for 10 mins. Add tomatoes, passata and stock, heat down and just stir it occasionally so it doesn't stick. Stick sausages in oven for 20-25 mins. Get the pasta sorted in time, all you have to do is boil it.

Chop the sausages into thirds when they're done.

Drain the pasta and mix the lot together in the big pan. Add some cheese if you like.

Bang, an evening meal and leftovers to come. Healthy, all done inside an hour and hearty.

That's similar to one of my favs, I usually put a load of paprika in and add some chopped up chorizo. Also instead of pasta I'll add a can of cannellini beans sometimes.

Sounds like a pasta bake without the bake

It's very similar to Sheldon Coopers favourite. Spaghetti with little hot dog sausages cut up in it.

Hot dog sausages compared to that are different planets mate. It’s like comparing wagyu to spam

Don't know why you're bothering mate, it's just meat in a bun. Save yourself a load of hassle, these only take 90 seconds.
