The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

Why are people putting anything on battered fish? It'll go all soggy! You must have some shitty chippies near you if you're ruining fish with ketchup or salad cream. :shake:

Salt and vinegar are the only things that should ever go near fish and chips.

Yep. Why? I don't see why it should be exclusive to lamb. It's great on chicken too.

You put salad cream on battered fish! I'm the one questioning your taste here!

Yes, battered fish and tomato sauce is yummy. But you dont put the sauce on until you have completely soaked it in vinegar first.

Ketchup and/or tartar sauce on battered fish. Or gravy.

Some of you are really fucking weird. Mint sauce with beef?! That's just bizarre.

And I agree with Mark - salt and vinegar is fine. Anything else really isn't.

Fucking gravy on fish machin?????

Honestly, I envy you west midlanders your beer and curries but your chippies must be fucking rancid if you're putting all that crap on top of it.

Says the bloke that comes from the place with the chippies that do deep fried Mars Bars.

As for the what we put on our fish can I just say that the majority of muslims are not terrorists.

Literally been in one chippy ever that deep fried mars bars and they only do it as a novelty for tourists.

I for one don't believe for a second that our friends north of the border spend their lives chomping on chocolate covered in batter, just as the Dutch are not all completely off their heads on pot!

A customer requesting something which we may consider to be ghastly on top of the already delicious dish of cod and chips, doesn't make the Chippie rancid.
