The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

Steak ciabatta at the end of season dart night. Not normally a fan of braised steak, but this is melt in the mouth gorgeousness...

A bit of classic Italian with a spagetti Bolognaise - bit of mince, pureed tomatoes, herbs & spagetti

Simple, but satisfying

What's not Italian about it? Serving it with Spaghetti?

That type of sauce doesn't belong with that pasta on an Italian menu. Plus the whole Spag Bol thing is rather anglicised. It is the chicken tikka massala of the med.

Chicken Marengo and Hasselback potatoes. Steamed veggies. Should be bloody gorgeous

I have never tried cooking Hasselback potatoes before. Looking forward to seeing how they come out.

I called them Hasselhoff potatoes earlier by accident. Looks like you get a great combo of the crunchy outside of an ace roastie but with a centre which is almost creamy like mash. Bring it fookin on.

Just had to Google them as I had never even heard of that before.

Tonights food is - Pub meal with the kids as I won't be around to see them on my Birthday, so officially my Birthday starts a week early.

Hasselback potatoes..peel potatoes..put in a wooden spoon..cut thin slices in the potatoe but spoon prevents going completely through...put a knob of butter on top of them and in the owen to roast..you can put some grill spices or whatever you like on top or just leave it as is...enjoy when crispy and slightly browned

I have used some very thin skinned taters so I haven't bothered skinning them. Chucked a garlic clove in there and will bung some aromatics in for the last few minutes. Second dose of butter has just gone on.

sounds nice that Paddy, fucking hell, watering in my mouth

They smell fookin ace. Used tarragon, thyme, rosemary and a bit of Italian seasoning. Those aromatics should go well with what is in the Marengo. Good slug of coarse salt and some freshly ground pepper. Mmmmmmmmmm.
