The Hand of Willy verdict thread

City fans (kids really) were very complimentary about us. A bit sour but really enjoyed the game. Hope we stuffed United and wished us well throughout the season.

Good natured even though none of them were over 25.

Oh, so that's what you were doing rather than talking to me. I see.

I'll start off by saying that those saying we shouldn't change system were right. We got a result, and a richly deserved one it was too. We didn't drop the wingbacks too deep and we were helped by Costa and Jota playing much better - although Jota still keeps giving the ball away too cheaply, and we just can't afford that in this league - plus Doherty not having a total nightmare (although he clearly isn't good enough long term, or even close to being so).

Patricio's save was a thing of wonder. That's what we're paying him a silly amount a week for. Jimenez looked like early Doyle but with tons more actual threat. The midfield two were born to play together, just sublime. We got the best and worst of Adama - two atrocious attempts at five yard passes inside the first couple of minutes of his cameo, but then two superb runs and they were clearly terrified of him. Boly's iffy PL debut was clearly an aberration as he looks supremely comfortable at this level. Jonny is a proper player, I wonder what we could have if we played him on his natural side.

To play in the manner we did against the opposition we did was the surest sign yet that we truly belong here. Make no mistake, plenty of people will have sat up and taken notice of this. Every pundit I've heard and every report I've read has been highly complimentary of us.

Post-match was pretty damn fine too once everyone listened to me and went to the pub I said we should go to...

Patricio makes Garth Crooks' team of the week.

He also calls Neves tackle on Silva assault. Which is stupid because Silva kicked himself.

So, Crooks is a fucking cunt, But we knew that. The fucking cunt.

Tbf, Silva kicks Neves' leg first.

Its the usual cheating shit that the prem has allowed to esculate, I think Gary Neville said he just donkey kicks Neves and falls over. Also Aguero WTF he touched me on the shoulder and I've brushed his leg so I will have temporary paralysis in my leg. As for those who say he didn't appeal I looked straight at the ref who gave a filthy look to Aguero. I guess an appeal was a yellow card for sure.
But for the clowns who argue any contact is a penalty its a penalty.

On the plus side "Champions of England" resort to diving against a newly promoted Wolves team.

Yeah I think City looked noticeably rattled by us, they aren’t used to being in a competitive game

Back home now after my annual hollibobs..
Watched the game in a bar in Gibralter stunning afternoon spent with a good friend who happens to be a Liverpool fan.
Was late for the ship after watching the first half of the pool game the wife had a call from head of security :)

Fell into the cabin and then 2 hours later fell asleep watching a band.

Stunning performance.
General notes
Patricio, Boly, Coady and Bennet awesomeness personified.
Neves, and Moutiniho could watch them all day
Jota much much better but still needs to take more care of the ball. First time this season saw glimpses of his ability.
Costa much, much better absolutely rinsed Mendy a few times ran out of steam a bit but looks like being the player we know he can be. Still much more to give.
Jiminez what a find looks far better than he did for Mexico. But what a striker. FFS look along the line we win the game.
Jonny never mind Otto it's Jonny Fantastic.
Doc better but still no where near the level we need. Upgrade required ASAP

Yes and that fantastic save Patricio made from Sterling's shot he had made after handling the ball; it definitely hit him on the arm and not his chest.
