After he blew up 11 years ago it would have been beyond cruel to see him lose. Feel sympathy for Rose, must be hard starting again after a long break.

All the noise that has accompanied Rory each time he has headed to The Masters can finally be laid to rest along with when will he ever win another major.

You'd think that will stand him in good stead psychologically going into majors over the next several years.

What an unbelievable rollercoaster of a day's play. From hole 1 with the double bogey, to the birdie on 17 that looked to have won it, only to bogey the last hole. And then have the balls to come out and attack the play off hole as he did was incredible.

Mrs Trips is no fan of golf in the slightest, and even she stayed up engrossed in it all the way through.

The mental strength Rory has shown to come back and win last night, after all that has happened there since 2011, and what must have been going through his mind all the final round is incredible.

The enormity of the achievement is something else too, just him and Tiger have achieved the Careee Slam in the last 60 years. It's a remarkable achievement. Hopefully now he can kick on and start collecting a few more majors now he's got over this hurdle
