The Goggle Box Thread

Line of Duty has been commissioned for series 5. Great news and I agree with you Booz it's brilliant.

That is great news mate, nice one. Easily the best UK drama out there.

Forgot, watching iZombie season 3 and Better Call Saul season 3 as well. Both class, the latter more so.

I wanted the Octopus dish to succeed.

The five now cooking off are a hard call to split. Love the mushroom and egg-yolk raviolo.

Really want Giovanna to survive but think she could be in the shit.

Just watched the last episode of 'The Last Kingdom'

Good, but the battle for Beamflot did not happen that way in the book - suppose that that many boats would have stretched the budget too far.

Pity that they killed off Clapa (who had the best mustache this side of Magnum PI) - not sure that he went at this time, but would have to re read the books to be certain.

Enjoyed it none the less

I thought it was good PLF and sets up series 3 well.

Masterchef is getting to the last stages but one contestant cooking what was essentially a chicken curry and rice getting through is shit in the extreme.

That contestant is really really REALLY pissing me off.

It was bad enough a few seasons ago when Natalie won and there was a completely one-dimensional finalist who just cooked curry in every round but this is even worse. Literally EVERY dish is the fucking same ideas.

Should have been bombed out in about round two.

Holy shit - the meal at the US Ambassador's house to start finals week was absolutely EPIC. If I was at that table I would have put on about three stone.

A very odd collection of guests but I agree what a meal. Thought the right person went too.

For Masterchef, I most want Steve to win - nice geezer and just seems to have an innate talent to cook great food - least want Saliya, as she does seem a bit one-dimensional. I can't say I can see the attraction of working in a busy kitchen - looks so stressful and full-on.

American Gods ep.2. Excellent again. Really good fantasy stuff without resorting to werewolves, vampires and/or superheroes which isn't really my bag. It looks beautiful, great soundtrack and has Lovejoy being nicely over-the-top.

Alison or Giovanna will win it I reckon, but Steve is ace too. Saliya is profoundly annoying with her totally one dimensional cuisine. Saying that, it was right for Lorna to bow out last night, she had reached as far as she could go.

Alison for me as I think her food is wonderful to look at. I thought Steve got a rough deal at the American Embassy last night as he had the most to do by a mile. I was slavering over that rib-eye steak though!

Saliya had a trifle to assemble to which the missus decried - even I could do that. I didn't say a word.

Latest Better Call Saul, absolutely brilliant.

Watched the first American Gods last night. Not sure what to make of it. Obviously just setting things up at this point but still quite strange. Ian McShane excellent as always though.

I can just about remember reading the book. had some great mini stories that will definitely work well on tv, but I don't recall there being a convincing underlying story to it.
