The Goggle Box Thread

Watching Red Bull Soapbox racing wondering how it ever gets signed off by the HSE or other countries equivalents.

Burned through season one of iZombie on Netflix over Christmas and really can't recommend it enough. It's another comic series come TV show, I was pissed off I missed the comics but am really glad I watched this. The premise is a 27 year old promising surgeon is attacked by a zombie at a party and gets infected, so she then gets a job at her local morgue to keep herself with a steady supply of brains. The brains of the deceased give her visions from the murder victims and she helps solve their deaths, she also picks up traits from each person. There are more zombies throughout Seattle but they're clever and look just like normal people, as long as they stay fed with brains.

This isn't you regular gore fest, it's a comedy drama that's brilliantly done. Rose McIver is brilliant in it as Liv Moore. Quality TV.

Thanks Boozad! Watching the first episode and its good so far

It gets better and better, the 'comedy' in it is brilliant. Great characters as well.

The theme tune is quality as well!

I watched the first few episodes of iZombie a while back but found it lacking. I get bored with "crime of the week" style shows without a proper arc, and the premise isn't enough to make it too interesting to drop.

I liked the lead as she's very nice, but the English guy could be very annoying.

There is a proper arc, the last three or four episodes of season one are class.

Watching the American version of Robot Wars on Ch5, Battle Bots.

They REALLY take it seriously over there.

Heads up for Charlie Brooker's 2016 Wipe tonight 9pm BBC2 HD.

Just watching it. It's been on 10 mins and nothing has yet happened. On a plus side Molly McGrath is very pleasing on the eye.

Top quality as usual. Highlights for me was the girl telling Cameron what a fuck up the Tories are, and Theresa May doing a Madness dance for the Queen!

They need to get rid of Philomena Cunk now though. Just intolerably shit and unfunny.

Found a stream of The Detectives - the episode when they're taken hostage when they're watching the cup final. It's awesome :icon_lol:

Dad: there's a documentary on the BBC about when the Flying Scotsman was at the Severn Valley Railway. It's fantastic - you must watch it, you'll love it.

Me: oh okay - I'll give it a go.

Bloody hell - how much of a train geek does ny father think I am? It was essentially an hour of 'dashcam' footage. Of the whole. Fucking. Journey. :icon_lol:

I can honestly say it's the most boring TV programme I've watched since our televised cup replay v Blues.

Oh Quirk - you can find it on the iPlayer.

It was the latest in a series of "slow tv" previous episodes have featured narrow boat and bus journeys.

Still watching it? I'm halfway through season 2 and still love it, it's really addictive. Rose McIver really does a firs class job of taking on different characteristics in each episode.

Just finished the second series of The Man in The High Castle - bloody brilliant TV, I really liked the first series, but second is fantastic.
