The Sherlock Christmas Special is set in Victorian times

Speaking at the SXSW Festival the co-creator explained that the episode was a one-off which was ‘in its own little bubble’ – rather than being part of the next series of the show.

‘The special is its own thing,’ Moffat said.

‘We wouldn’t have done the story we’re doing, and the way we’re doing it, if we didn’t have this special.’

‘It’s not part of the run of three episodes. So we had this to do it – as we could hardly conceal – it’s Victorian. Mark Gatiss and me, we wanted to do this, but it had to be a special, it had to be separate entity on its own.’

Disappointed Bouncer's dream wasn't at #1 TBH.

I used to love Neighbours. Would watch it with my old man at lunchtime when I was at 6th form college. Proper father/son bonding that is. Though that list is a bit rubbish - No, Joe or Mrs Mangle for a start. And if they're doing famous faces, what about Jesse Spencer who played Billy Kennedy and the pretty-boy Australian doctor in House?

She was in an Australian drama about a brothel called Satisfaction. She was a high class escort in it. Still gorgeous too.

The Neighbours 30th anniversary documentary was amazing. A trip down memory lane. A bit disappointed not to see Natalie Imbruglia, Holly Valance or the girl who played Bronwyn but still - worth staying up past midnight for on a school night.

They showed Bouncer's dream as well. Incredible scenes.

I think I saw Bronwyn in the background at one point.

Nice to see Kerry again - she was lovely.

That was Bronwyn in the 'Henry + towel' scene wasn't it?

Kerry was a bit too much of a tree hugger for my liking. Cool screen death though.

Alan Partridge has finally got a TV programme idea to be taken on...

Mr T is doing a Home Improvment show called......"I Pity the Tool"

Yeah. I always thought they got the nudity the wrong way round in that scene. As in should have been Bronwyn not Henry, not that Henry should have been facing the camera!

I think my top three Neighbours ladies would be:

Natalie Imb
Kerry
Libby

Others were probably prettier than Kerry and Libby (not many people are prettier than Nat) but they made the biggest impression on my adolescent self.

Madeleine West (Dee Bliss)
Natalie Bassingthwaighte (Isabelle Hoyland)
Pippa Black (Elle Robinson)

Anyway, to get away from the Neighbours hornfest, I've been Sky+ing The World at War on BBC2 weekday afternoons. I can categorically state that even at 40+ years old there has never been a finer documentary series shown on TV. Truly brilliant.

Used to watch that when I was a kid. The definitive war documentary. Didn't they add colour to the old black and white footage?
